He looked horrible last night. Pretty sure he was benched for a bit. Hopefully that continues.
- MattStrat

I don't think he was benched. He was demoted to the fourth line. Have no problem with that one either.

How do you know? ...have a good Swedish hockey insider? Know Hornqvists family?
- MattStrat

From the looks of the replay it either hit a nerve or it's a fracture. I don't think it could be anything else?

I just can't justify not watching Doc Emrick no matter how bad the intermission guys are. Also to be perfectly honest I'd rather have Pierre than not have Pierre. He's like hilariously weird. Without Pierre we don't get that amazing Phil Kessel moment from last night.
- Victoro311
I do enjoy Emerick especially when its intense back and forth hockey. He gets so excited sometimes I wonder if he is wearing pants. Sometimes I just need a change. During the season I try to get away from Steiggy and Errey and watch the away broadcasts if I can as well.

So Sheary was pretty much benched again. I don't know if this is an injury thing or what but he just isn't effective anymore. He's been a good player for us this season, but I think it's time for him to be done and try again next year like Maatta. In light of that this is what I'd do:

Malkin-Crosby-Hornqvist
HBK
Kunitz-Sundqvist-Rust
Kuhnackl-Cullen-Fehr

Use those as "home base" lines and limit Sundqvist's minutes by double shifting Crosby and Malkin with Kunitz and Rust. Malkin and Crosby have been playing really, really well together this series. Permanently putting them together might just be what Malkin needs.

If Hornqvist is injured, then make the top line Kunitz-Crosby-Malkin and plug Sheary in on Sundqvist's left and just try to limit that line's minutes as much as possible.

Djan reported this morning that Hornqvist left last night's game with no bandage or cast and was all smiles. He informed Djan he was feeling "good good good". Maybe he's out, but it doesn't sound like it'll be for long term if he is.

I think horny probably just got a stinger or some sort. Maybe it hit a nerve & he lost feeling for a little bit but figured there was no need to power through it with only a few minutes left & that his team had it handled.

Sheary looked good during the second period last night. He was doing Sheary like things. It was promising.

I think the kunitz - sid - geno line that was on the ice for a short period yesterday was good. think kunitz works better with sid and geno than horny.

I agree, last night was the best he has looked in awhile. Then again that's not saying much.

So, can an entire line win the Conn Smythe????

HBK line so far in the playoffs:

14 goals, 25 assists, 39 points, and a +22.

An an entire team? Kessel has really started separating himself from the pack as our playoff MVP, but man there are so many guys on this squad that are deserving.

I agree. Kessel is rising to the top. That line though, they do so many things well. I forgot Tyler Johnson was playing until he scored.

As of right now, Kessel is our MVP. He is playing at another level, and completely shutting up the pundits who said he is lazy and a "coach killer"

The HBK line has been the most dynamic line in the NHL these playoffs. I noticed the Bolts were putting out their top pairing against them and still weren't able to stop them. Would not be surprised to see Boyle's line matched up against them tomorrow night, which will give Sid an advantage.

I love when Sully throws out Hags on a random line. It changes the lines dynamic instantly!

Would love to see that. Boyle is a big body but doesn't have the wheels to keep up with that line. Sid would eat up the second pairing D. They're usually having Boyle shadow him to help the D shut down his board game.

Every time I think of Hagelin I think of that insane poster who came in and wrote a novel about how Hagelin is a psychopath and we shouldn't get too attached to him because he's a sadist and will screw us over on purpose for pleasure. Not sure if he was a Rangers or a Michigan fan but it was (frank)ig hilarious
