Jmo, what was the info on Ho-Sang you were holding back until the end of the season?

Come on we traded for Tim Thomas just to get to the cap floor and help Boston clear cap space idk what you're talking about. I wonder if that's why we got the 16th and 33rd pick for reinhart maybe Chiarelli owed snow a favor
- Upstate_isles

2 things on this post... 1. We did not trade for TT to get to the cap floor.. We were already at the floor. We traded for him for 2 reasons. Boston gave us a pick to take him off their books.. (3rd rounder unless we signed him I think).. and 2. If we ended up trading someone that was a pending UFA at the deadline like Streit, PA, etc it kept us above the cap floor so we could make the trade. It made sense for Isles to make that move.. and made sense for Boston b/c allowed them cap room too.

Reinhardt still is not done. Defenseman... especially big Defenseman sometimes take much longer to develop. It looks like a GREAT trade right now for Isles but Reinhardt was drafted for his upside potential. Edmonton wasn't in the same place timeline wise as Isles. ..the jury isn't done on Reinhardt.

I never liked the reinhart picked. His numbers in the WHL never impressed me that much. I preferred Dumba, Rielly or Trouba.
- The Iceman

I think all of us were on that same bandwagon before the draft.

Butchie has 8 by the end of warmups...
- jmo16

Not for a few years now.. He used to without a doubt but I think Butch does a decent job. At least compared to what he Used to do 10 years ago. He has grown on me a lot. He also points out some of the obvious things Cap seems to miss game in and game out.

We're going to get a Hofstra kid from the radio program...
- Jethro09

Kid's voice is horrific.. that would be upsetting. King worked very hard and clearly deserves his shot. If it's not him it is a crime.

2 favorite Howie Rants.. He may not have been Homer enough for you guys but I thought He did a great job. As a Yanks fan who has to suffer through Susan and John I know all too well how bad an announcer can make watching a game.

Really nice guy as I was fortunate to meet him a few times, and he told me some crazy "political" stories of his stay w/isles, so doubt he'll come back, plus his gig on NHL network (I think) is a good one for him...

edit: don't know why it bolded my whole post

I didn't mind Howie. Him being a Ranger fan never bothered me figured the guys days were numbered his schedule was insane btn the Mets and Islanders. Brian Erni's piece on the subject is exceptionally bozoish on IPB. Wouldn't expect anything else.

Wang wanted him to go commando when he called games. He refused now he's gone.

I can't fathom why you continue to read IPB when you hate it so much

Careful what you say on here......seems like theres a "flag ninja" on here, as i was banned for the first time in 8 years by a certain someone who shall remain nameless.

For the record, i've never flagged anyone on here in my 8 years posting.

I just found Howies voice to be a bit on the whiny side. I was always partial to Jiggs and Eddie.....perhaps its because they were my first announcers.

Is it Wang who was in charge of the play by play guys or was that the network?

Even though I think he being groomed to take over for Rosen if they give the job to John Giannone I would never watch another game on TV

Having it directly next to the quote button isn't the best design!

I flagged Dan because the buttons are tiny on my phone and if you don't zoom it's easy to do.

Please don't ever post an ESPN article on the NHL again in these boards if you want to be taken seriously....

and they agree with what I said. "Cap insurance" which basically means the Isles were at the floor and it gave them wiggle room to do things if they needed (they were so close to the floor that if they put someone on DL they fell below it.. so they would go a man short.. not kidding).
