Some just don't get it and I'm not sure why.

Kesler prances around the Olympic village with Kane and a few others crying about Van and the players there and of course it's going to get out sooner or later. Not just from credible reporters was this applied to the media as well. Came from multiple sources.

Shortly after Kane lobbies to CHI MNGT that they need Kesler for their playoff run and they need to make a trade for him. Again confirmed by multiple credible sources at the time.

Kesler then denies (in front of his teammates IN THE DRESSING ROOM multiple times) that he has denied any and all trade requests (which is the standard answer but by this time the teammates have already been appraised of what is happening).

Kesler then decides to take it a step further (in the room) in front of multiple reporters…'I guess Lou was right…I'm staying right here'…wow..what do people think that does to the chemistry in the room environment. And that's just scratching the surface around Kesler's antics regarding his trade request. Is there any point in discussing how Kesler's agent constantly harassed MNGT and manipulated the situation as well?

Don't even want to get started on Lou.

Bottom line for me is that players and agents and the like talk ALL THE TIME around the league in and out of games. Some of them are buddies…some aren't. The point is stuff gets around. And the Kesler stuff had mountains o credibility. Certain things happen outside of the room yes that can be misconstrued, but having said that once the players get it in their head that their fellow teammates are manipulating situations to satisfy their own agendas well…there you have it. Not hard to figure.

In all seriousness, with the number of 1 way contracts on the Canuck D core, I wish I knew the team's plans heading into the off season. I am already assuming Bart and Weber are gone, but there are still 8 D (assuming Pedan and Larsson are signed) on 1 way. I know Vancouver likes to have 8 NHL ready D and probably wouldnt lose sleep over Biega getting claimed if they grabbed Weircoch for depth, but I am curious how they plan to improve the back end for 2-3 seasons from now
