yuck, jon cooper has lost a lot of respect in my book. He's getting a lesson in coaching 101 about how to create 2nd and 3rd chances rather than trying to set up pretty goals. I was hoping for a fun series, but it looks like the pens simply want it way more than the bolts. Outworking them in every aspect of the game and creating their own chances rather than passing it all over and simply hoping for a play to set itself up.

I really like what Mike Sullivan has done there, much respect for keeping things simple and just demanding hard working hockey from his guys and b*tch slapping his opponents on their home ice

- bberkey1

Idk. This game was dominated by the Pens no doubt. So much so it was probably the most boring game I've seen in this playoffs and I've watched a lot of games.

But Tampa could easily be leading 2-1. Crosby's OT goal the other night was kind of fluky. And they were a lot better than the Pens in game 1.

As is so often the case in the playoffs the margins are razor thin. You can have a 6 or 7 game series that really could've been a sweep so throughly outclassed are some teams that get lucky in a couple games and artificially extend the series. Like the Flyers and Sabres in the first round in '06, the Sabres outscored the Flyers 27-14. Both Sabres losses were effectively by 1 goal. The 4-2 game had an empty net goal by Gagne with 16 seconds left.

Our pipeline stinks.

Guhle is still a prospect, albeit a good looking one.. he's 1-2 years out. The rest of them, if they even make it, are at least like 2-3 years out from making an impact. Really hoping we pick a D if we stay at 8.. that's 2 Dmen that will be ready in 1-2 years. So I think you might be looking for a guy for 2-3 years.

Guhle, Florentino, Martin, and Borgen are all good D prospects of varying skillsets.

Where did you get your math from in parts of the above?

You only pay PMI until your interest versus principal amoint remaining on your loan hits a certain ratio, and it certainly isn't anywhere near the entire life of your loan. Not even close.

Further, the amount needed at closing isn't unreasonable lime you're making it out to be.

I purchased a house for $207K last fall.

I ended up needing less than $14K for all the closing costs and down payment combined, plus my mortgage insurance isn't $130 a month. It is less.

- kingcong39

Closing costs are extremely variable. As the saying goes location, location, location. If you're a first time home buyer sometimes closing costs are covered, or very nearly so. If you buy a house in Niagara Falls I believed they're covered by the city, or again, they're very cheap like just a couple hundred bucks, because they want people to move back in. It depends on how much you want to put down as well. If you put down 7%-10% that's up to $24,000 for just your down payment. Already $10,000 more than you paid. Your mortgage is going to be a lot higher given your small downpayment. I've heard of occasions where people have to pay $30,000 on a "normal" house i.e. not a mansion.

Either way "only" $14,000 to someone who has an average of $35,000 in student loan debt if they graduated on 2015 is an astronomical number to have in the bank. Unless they live with mom and dad and are making like $50,000+ with a cheap car. Then it's doable after a couple years.

Depends on your loan type. I assumed an fha mortgage, because in my example, the recent grad would be cash poor. Fha loans allow you to put down only 3.5%, and if your appraisal supports it, you can roll up to 6 more percent to cover closing costs. However, as of june 3 2013, pmi does NOT fall off at 78% ltv. I just looked up the pmi rate for fha loans, if you only put down 3.5%, the rate is .85% of your loan amount annually. So on a $140,000 purchase, assuming your appraiser did you a solid and valued the house at $150,000 or so, you are rolling your closing costs in and have a $143,000 mortgage. Thats $100 a month for the life of the mortgage. I was going by the old rate of 1.35% which would be closer to $140 a month for the life of the mortgage. You probably have a conventional which has lower pmi rates that do drop off over time. i hate pmi. Its charging people with no money a fee for not having money. Unfortunately thats what happens after the easy money 2002-2008 era.

Yep, but that's everywhere in life. Oh? You can't afford 36 rolls of toilet paper right now? Well we'll take $.75 a roll when you could be paying just $.35 if you had the ~$13. I can't remember how much I paid for the huge 36 pack last time, but it was a hell of a lot cheaper than $.75 a roll. Just as one example of an everyday item that poor people get shafted on because they can't afford to buy in bulk.

Car insurance is another. If you pay your entire yearly premium at once you save a good chunk of money. Some places it's 10%, some it's more.

I'm the same way. Been a fan since "The Lamb" album. Have seen him probably 10 times in my life. The one show I missed was his first year on tour solo ....... 1977 or so. He's playing a gig in San Jose and all my fanatic buddies find out where he's staying and stake out a claim in the lobby waiting for him to arrive after the show. He arrives, they call him over and he proceeds to join this motley group for a 30 minute sit down in the hotel lounge answering anything they threw at him. Different times indeed.

It's all down to puck luck at this point .............the Blues lose 4-0 yesterday and they likely would have won if they didn't hit posts.

I it's really no big loss but it's kind of embarrassing that a player doesn't want to play here ..

What is going on here i'm really concerned that people think our organization is a joke

Haven't seen it, but judging from the previews was it really a remake? Or was it kind of loosely based on the original characters? I don't remember skydiving in the original.

Is their any actual news? Did he say anything? I just heard he was on the did not report list. And let's be honest, it's Dri Archer, more than likely only a special teamer.

According to someone close to Archer, he has no interest in coming to Buffalo. He was raised a Steeler fan and post cut, had no interest.

28 years old without heavy wear and tear. 7 years at a hair more than $6M/yr (Toronto retained salary).

Averages 66 points over last 6 years. 61 and 59 in last two years.

If the Sabres had the chance and didn't take him, then I'm changing my mind immediately about GMTM and I will take SBroads side of many more arguments.

After reading the article by the Edmonton writer on top 10 picks being traded I wonder what we could get for 8?

the Blue Jackets traded their 8th overall pick and Jakub Voracek a 50/46 point guy in his last two seasons in Columbus for Jeff Carter a 61/66 point guy in his last two seasons there. At the time Vorachek's numbers would've made him the 3rd best point player on our team last year. Carters would have been our best.

It'sinteresting to see and obviously Columbus lost this trade they technically got
Jack Johnson for the 8th overall pick and Jakub Voracek... Not a great trade at all...

So in saying all that I wonder what it would take to get a fair deal for the Sabres to give up 8th overall pick. Preferably for a defender but I could also see a winger.

- bluengold12

They got Johnson and 1st. The 1st was Marko Dano, who was moved for Brandon Saad,
