Thought that deal happened in off-season. My bad I guess.

That was when he was moved to Columbus.

If we are going to have any chance at making the playoffs he needs to equal or exceed the year he had last year. I think its possible as long as he doesn't get thirty injuries again. We have some of the worst depth in the league at the position despite what the ultimate manipulator Whaley will tell you we need Sammy
- bluengold12

Whaley will be in the unemployment line after this season, with Rex and his goofy ass brother in front of him.

Our pipeline stinks.

Guhle is still a prospect, albeit a good looking one.. he's 1-2 years out. The rest of them, if they even make it, are at least like 2-3 years out from making an impact. Really hoping we pick a D if we stay at 8.. that's 2 Dmen that will be ready in 1-2 years. So I think you might be looking for a guy for 2-3 years.

they need to be a top 3 rushing team and have a top 8 d to have a chance to sniff 10 wins IMO
- homiedclown

Its nearly impossible to repeat as the number 1 rushing team in the league. Not saying it can't be done but I do expect to see a slight drop off there as teams will now be more prepared for it. Obviously our bread and butter needs to be having a top 10 defense and a top 5 running game but you need to have reliable receivers as well and we really don't have that even with Sammy. He's going to get double teamed a lot. A guy like Woods or someone else needs to step up to take the heat off of Sammy. Clay needs to be A LOT better too

If we finish above 8-8 I guarantee Rex at least stays unfortunately. I wanted us to hire Hue Jackson from the start... Would've kept Schwartz as DC. Only down side of that is we probably would've been stuck with that prima donna Mario.

Yeah let's have Robert Woods and Marquise (I'm made of glass) Goodwin be our top receivers... That will end our playoff drought!
- bluengold12

Goodwin is going to the Olympics he won't be on the team.

Any NHL team that has their 3 most recent 1st round picks graduate and move 5 other prospects in deals to acquire talent would have a lousy prospect pool..... Like what else is left haha. 22 picks in the next two drafts. Relax cowboy.

Behind him it's two guys who weren't even in the league last year and a 6th round rookie and some slot guy they think will be the next Wes Welker.

I hope they trade at least 10 of those picks. Be it to move up at certain points of the draft or to get players/prospects

Totally agree ! I was just making note that there are more prospects on the way to help fill the void.

I would package Franson and a 3rd to get back into the 2nd round. Just read a report that Preds won't be bringing back Gaustad. Would like to see him come back and anchor the 4th line. Between him and ROR the Sabres won't lose many face offs next year that's forsure = more possession. For a possession oriented team that could pay huge dividends.

I like Hue Jackson that would have been a good hire, as would Jim Schwartz.

There's so much talk about wpg being interested in trading out of #2. Would there be any way we make a move for that? What would it take?
- OGAR91

It would take so much ..

But if you want to get that pick quick it just take sam that's it there are other ways to getting him there are more difficult but that's the easiest way but I'm a big Patrick laine fan I still feel he's going to go first overall so if that happens I would have no hesitation to trade Sam for Austin Matthews

Trade his sorry ass too.
- SABRES 89

We would get nothing for him that would be pointless ..

I'm pissed too this whole organization is still a (frank)ing circus but you can't trade him when we gave up so much for him

Oh god here we go again. Didn't he shut up your bust talk with his second half last year?

Sammy Watkins - 3rd in NFL in terms of Yds/reception with minimum of 50 catches.
Top 20 WR in most major categories. Top 3-5 in several others.

Bills fan logic #Bust because he took his family to Disney that one time.

I never said he was a bust I said he never lived up to his potential of what we gave up for him but I was completely wrong last year which I stated and said he was a stud the second half. 89 said we should trade him and I said it would be pointless because we would get nothing back that's how the NFL works .

Sammy won me over last year he asked for the ball he shut me up i'm just kind irritated we didn't get a potential second wide receiver to get pressure off him but the bills don't think

If they ever wanted to trade him everyone would want him. He's on a rookie deal with 2 years left and he's a #1 receiver.
