Leon's gonna be a center going forward
It's great that he can play wing, and I think he will from time to time, but the organization is looking at him as the big 2c we want going forward. His size and ability to outmuscle opponents down low makes it almost silly to not play him in his natural role.
And I'd bet the organization puts more pure value in him than rnh going forward. And probably rightly so. The blog mentioned proven track record a few times, but the thing is rnh's track record has never put up jaw dropping numbers. Or even anything impressive enough to consider him a great 2c just yet.
I think it's probably prudent that we deal eberle or the 4th before nuge. But if we've dealt yakupov, I keep ebs and look to move Rnh
The best thing about keeping nuge is the depth factor he gives us. But then we dont wanna use it and just try and stack a line while playing him against all the toughest competition? Weird - HB77
He's worth more than Ebs, and we NEED a massive return

Issue is, what teams are willing to trade #1 Dmen at the moment, even the non-elite ones? Can't think of many that are rumored to be available besides Barrie. Maybe Subban if Montreal is stupid. |

Holy (frank) you're alive! Welcome back.
For the sake of argument, why is Nuge worth more than Eberle? Is it because he is a center or his two way play? It certainly can't be because of his offensive production. |

Playoffs next season is a bit over the top. But not being eliminated by new years would be nice.
On another note, I mentioned the idea of moving Leon back to the wing about a month ago. If the Oilers lose both Eberle and Yakupov in an effort to improve defence it's not impossible to see Leon as the #1 RW and adding someone like Brouwer to take the 2nd or 3rd RW. Adds a lot of size and grit over Eberle.
Something like:
Hall-RNH-Drai
Pou-CMD-Brouwer
Wouldn't be a bad top 6 combo of skill, speed, size, and grit. As long as they do some work to upgrade the bottom 6 and defense it should be a team that can tease us with flirting with a playoff position. Would also give them a 2nd face off option when RNH gets kicked out of the dot. Not a horrible option. - wreckage
Why would Brouwer sign in Edmonton? |

Because Oiler management will probably be willing to pay him more than he's worth for longer than he's worth having. |

I think perception. and the possibility of reaching another level or two
And being a center (which has some truth to it, but as I've mentioned before, the whole center value vs worthless winger value thing hae gotten ridiculous.
But yeah, there's nothing he's really done thus far that make him better or more valuable in a tangible sense than eberle. It's crazy how quickly we forget seasons of 76, 65, 63 and on pace for another 63 during lockout. And he's more durable
Not saying we certainly shouldn't trade him, just that it's pretty obvious perception does not always equal reality |

Yarp.
Can't remember the last time I was this excited about a draft, without actually giving a poop if the Oilers draft anybody. Mostly I just want to see where Chia is going to make his mark, for better or worse. |

For sure
Not unusually stoked about any one player that we have available to us. Wouldn't hate to see chycrun if he can't move the pick I guess. But moreso, I wanna see what chiarelli is able to accomplish |

If it's not #1 you don't even want it anymore. That's sad.

Too harsh a penalty.
I suggest that the removal of his left nut would be more humane and fitting considering his past posting history. |
