Little is 28. In 3-4 years, he will definitely be in decline unless he continues to produce, which has been proven unlikely when compared to the common trend of NHL players.

LD is 20 and Connor McDavid is 19. RNH is 23. If RNH is traded to Winnipeg, he might play in the three hole for 3 seasons at the max. After that, he will have a guaranteed spot at 2C with Winnipeg, whereas if he stays in Edmonton, he will probably play in the three hole for the rest of his career. Nonetheless, by then, RNH will still ONLY be 25-26 years old.

Edmonton can handle this problem because of our depth of quality centermen for the Top 6 role in correspondence to their age as well. In 3 years, McDavid will be 22 and LD will be 23, so Winnipeg shoudl be WAY more worried than us. We just need a good 2nd/3rd line center that can assure us some stability while LD develops (I'm not worried about McDavid because he is, well McDavid). That is why I thought about Dano. He was a natural center when he was drafted that became accustomed to the wing due to the depth of other teams; the good thing is that he excelled at it. He would definitely help with Edmonton's depth in center if a player like RNH was traded.

As much as we don't agree with each other, I gotta agree with you on this one. Jones should be getting somewhere near the 5-6mill range and that is still being generous. Anything more is an overpayment.

With the way the cap is rumoured to be 7.5 mill will only be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd as compensation.

He'd better like defensemen that play the right side, cause that's what we need. Not to be wasting assets on more small forwards, when that's what we already have an abundance of.
