yeah the value system drastically changes when you are talking about franchise type players.
There is no way in hell any team, including the Leafs would take that list of picks for first overall.

Assessing the value of each pick based on games played is a good START to measuring the value of any given pick. There should then however be adjustments made based on the quality of picks (i.e. PPG), and also based on realistic comparable players.
And with all that in mind, the valuations hold more true for later picks where the delta(value) from pick to pick is much less significant. When a guy like Matthews is available, you don't move the #1.

Getting one Franchise player is very difficult. His whole reasoning is so bad, I wonder how the editors let it on the site.

Funny how some fans overate mid level prospects. I see some trade scenarios on the main thread for Laine and some fans are really in love with potential 3rd/4th line potential prospects. Top prospects like Matthews and Laine rarely get traded and they do, someone will have to "overpay". |
