EK has us trading Rielly, Nylander and Marner for Laine.
I know the Jets wouldn't do it, but would the Leafs? |

Laine is better than Matthews apparently so you might as well add the 1st overall to that list. |

Yah youre probably right so wouldnt you credit the coaches for putting him in a situation to succeed and him for accepting the role and taking advantage of it as opposed to sulking. - coolehmon41
i dont disagree... however salary vs role is huge in a cap system
the pens are going for it... i get that... bu moving forward they are going to have to do some clever cap work... especially if they are paying that much for a 3rd line winger. |

Lemme help you out with this, Dozzer.
He's not being paid to be a 3rd line winger.
He's being paid to be the team's leading scorer.
The fact that he can do it while playing with two pieces of dog poop seems to indicate it is money well-spent. |

Yup! but I guess if you're winning cups or contending for cups these are the kinda problems you deal with. We will know soon enough. |

They don't want him on the top 6.
This is the joy of Phil Kessel - he generates his own offence. |

A lot to pay for a 13-14 minute player, he is not our problem anymore so who cares. |

So a guy can be the team leader in playoff scoring in only 13-14 minutes a night, and you think Pittsburgh has a problem on their hands?
This is why Toronto can't have nice things.
Kessel sucks.
Soshnikov and Komarov are the guys you win Stanley Cups with.

if he was playing other top lines and top defenses he woulnt be producing at this pace
period
his success is mostly situational. |

Yeah. Edmonton need D. We don't have any D that we could offer up to help. Maybe something revolving around JvR is they wanted an upgrade over Pouliot at wing, but I still don't see this as likely at all... |

I'll let Pittsburgh know they should be unhappy with him.
Think they'll put an asterisk next to his name when they engrave it on the cup?

17:13 in the playoffs, a good minute less than he got in toronto that time they fluked a playoff appearance.
he seems able to produce in any situation. |

Funny you should say that, of all the game winning goals this playoff season, how many have been scored by star players? I'm curious to see. |
