Mine as well keep Nash if that is the case.
Fortunately, I really don't think that is the case with the club. - MidnightMarauder
Yep the Rangers really want to try and get younger this offseason...going after high price UFAs, ins't gonna help that cause |

The best thing to do with Nash is trade him for whatever you get and use that money for 2 players. i.e.- Brouwer, Shaw, Lucic, Weise. The players they add have to have some piss and vinager. Think about guys for the playoffs, NOT regular season. Players you need in the playoffs, players that are hard to play against. Players that score garbage goals. Players that have an intimidation factor. I've been saying this for years so hopefully they finally do that. I firmly believe this current group is a grade A regular season team, but the playoffs it lacks something. Its been mostly speed and skill for years now and it truly only takes you so far. Mcilrath needs to play in the top 6 and that would surely help in this regard. We always have issue with bigger forwards crashing around or deflecting pucks because we can't push anyone out of there. |

Tom what is Kreiders ext looking like 4 years or more? - TPC
between 4 and 4.5 million. Something similar to Bryan Bickell's extension. But Kreider is younger and has had better regular seasons. |

Don't think the Rangers are going the high price free agent route this summer. McGinn has been heavily mentioned in the Ranger media, and multiple times at that, as a prime target for Gorton and Co. - MidnightMarauder
Well you would need to replace Nash's production/role if you trade him. Granted he had a bad season, but there's no reason to think he won't rebound to 30+ goals. Not to mention the attention he takes away from his teammates including attracting the oppositions top defensive pair away from the 2nd line. |

I wouldn't mind Weise. Rangers should have never traded him. God damn Torts hated him. |

The point is you saw us at the peak of that identity and it was utterly dominated by a bigger badder piss n vinager team in LA. And we don't have Towes, Kane or Crosby to make that work, that's what you need. |

Nash has been a yo yo with his production since being in NY.
His first season, the lockout year, he was a force in the regular season. Second year, gets hurt, misses significant amount of time and doesn't break the 30 goal barrier. 2014-15, he was beastly and set a career season high in goals. This past season, scored his lowest goal total since his rookie season. So technically you are right, he would be on pace to have a bounce back season upcoming. But, combine his inconsistency, injury issues and the fact he is a complete no show come playoff time, it's hard to keep validating his being the second highest paid player on a team that is desparate for offensive game breaker.
Mine as well trade him, get some needed assets, acquire a lesser player but for less money and instill a scoring by committee approach instead of trying to rely on a player, that quite frankly, isn't all that reliable. |

We were not utterly dominated by LA
LA can't even make the playoffs or do damage if they do anymore with how fast the NHL is getting |

Most teams that are consistent playoff performers have a nice blend of skill and team toughness. In this day and age, team toughness is not defined by how many pure pugilists you have on your fourth line but rather how many players, up and down the lineup, don't back down form physical play. |
