We could have had Tarasenko..... That one probably hurts the most. Imagine him on our top line.

Don't look at the ridiculous 2003 draft after our teams made their respective picks.

Blues got Schwartz and Tarasenko after we took McIlrath

two of biggest reasons they are playing right now

- jimbro83

McIlrath will be the biggest reason we win a Cup next year

Seabrook was drafted 2 picks after him. After we took Robert Nilsson at 15: Parise, Getzlaf, Burns, Kesler, Richards, Perry all went in the rest of the 1st round. 2nd round included Eriksson, Bergeron, Weber, Crawford, Backes and Howard. Pavelski went in round 7 Byfuglien in 8th, Halak/Elliott in 9th. That was some draft.

Best draft in the modern era.

Rangers(Jessiman), Isles(Nilsson), Stars(Belle), and a few other misses but the first two or three rounds produced some serious NHL talent.

Giroux in the Flyers 2010 finals run was one of their best players. 2011 and 2012 he was awesome in the postseason too. Since then though, in 2014 and this past season, he was a non factor.

The facts that the Ducks got Getzlaf and Perry in the same round is hilarious.

The fact that Bergeron slipped to round two, along with Weber, is insanity.

Predators drafted Suter and Weber with their first and second round picks in that draft. Some teams hit multiple home runs in that draft: Ducks, Predators, Flyers.

Pavelski going in the seventh round is one of the best draft picks, in the last twenty years or so, along with Lundqvist, Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Byfuglien.

Brian Elliott is 3 wins away from helping to carry his team to the Stanley Cup final and he was the 2nd to last pick.

It's really something but he tooked the scenic route into becoming an established #1 goaltender. He has put up good numbers, over the last three or four seasons, but this was the year he finally separated himself from 1A to credible #1.

It helps that he has a strong defensive team playing in front of him that plays a strong system but he deserves a lot of credit for the Blues success this season.

Still think the Sharks win in six though.
