Yep, Pens had a great first period going then bam PP sucks the life out. What a (frank)ing waste

They need to split up that top PP, its really pathetic.

How the phuck can you have Sid, Geno, Tim Horton, and Letang, yet have such an ineffective powerplay? It makes zero sense. Next practice should be nothing but PP until the players puke, then more PP.

That was a soft goal, first goal wasn't much better... Hate to say it but Fleury should start the second. Its not about blaming Murray either.

I agree this isn't about blaming Murray, which everyone will think is what I'm doing. I'm not saying put in Fleury after two goals, but Murray's hasn't been playing like a stud in a while. He's playing pretty average. If he gives up a third one and we're down I make the change.

Matt usually shuts the door down after serving up two weak goals. We have seen this before. If a third comes, I would pull him.

Because they only shoot when the shot is perfect, which never happens because they never think the shot is perfect.
pass, pass, blind pass, lose the puck, puck cleared, skate to the zone, drop it all the way back for no reason, pass..pass... PP over.

if you gave two units 100 PPs, give me bonino, schultz, daley, hornqvist, and kessel. that one will score more than one with crosby, malkin, and letang on it.

Up until this game I was against taking Murray out, but he just isnt setting up fast enough, and for a positional goalie thats death.
I dont think these are weak goals for Murray, I think these are lack of experience goals, he isnt reading the play fast enough and he isnt going to learn that between periods.

Yes, they do. However, those were two soft goals and we have TB fans thinking that was a great shot by Drouin? LOL.

The boys needed to convert on some of those six other golden opportunities that they blew.

TB will get the first pp out of the gate. Watch.

2 serious defensive break downs by TB. Hedman on the 1st goal. left Cullen wide open, he was right there & just left him alone going over to cover a player on the opposite side of the net who was already covered? Brown on Kessel's just let him skate right by him. Both players had wide open nets to shoot at. Brutal to think NHL players can make such mistakes. Especially a superstar like Hedman.

You'd think one of the 400 passes they throw would go off someone and go in by accident, but they are all too good at passing.

I'd let the HBK line be the second unit.

yeah they will. can't even gripe too much because the pens had two of their own and basically jerked off into their own mouths with them. they did have a few golden opportunities that were either a nice save or unconverted, but at least they had jump during those stretches. they don't produce poop for 5 minutes after a PP because they're just so deflated.

and murray has been a stud but... that first one was textbook on him. high and he has 0 chance. however, the defense was so egregious in front of him i wouldnt hang him for it. that second one though. awful. and an awful time too.

need to take control of the play this next period. how they come out will say a lot.

i get having the best players get the most time. and if you split up crosby and malkin you will be shortchanging one. and i know thats a can of worms.

but i just dont know what else to do. they look so jumbled anymore. at least last game i liked the thought process of just forcefeeding malkin for bombs. didnt really work, but i liked the intent. these last couple. (frank)ing hornqvist is up top sometimes. malkin fishing behind the net. letang at the half wall.

what the literal (frank) is the design even?

I actually like that idea as well. Move Kunitz up in Hornqvist put Shultz on the 1st unit in place of Kessel, then go HBK on the 2nd unit with Dumo/Daley at the points.

I'm with you. As well as Seary played against the NYR he has been garbage against Washington and Tampa. I've seen enough of him on the top line.

I feel like im repeating myself but I think its time to bring up Sprong. Sheary looks really good against slow teams but when the game speed picks up he looks really bad. I dont see why they wouldnt try to inject some energy and scoring ability to shake things up.
