Me thinks Sheary is in over his head a little. Maybe he can develop a little over the offseason, but Sid needs a playmaker on the wing. Sprong would be perfect if he wasn't a RW. I would swap Sheary for Sprong right now easily. Sheary is turning the puck over and losing it too much. He's doing more damage than helping the team out. He'd look good in the bottom 6 though. |

Guess we can say Murray settled down... - Guile
I don't really think Sullivan was considering puling him but minus that save at the end of the period he was still very shaky and is fighting the puck, that period was more about them not allowing shots than anything else.

What is our other options? Kessel is property of the Bonino line... so, Rust or Kuhn pretty much.
Cause I am not sure Kunitz is an upgrade over Sheary :/ |

Sadly I don't think there is a "better" option, just lateral moves with different play styles in the choices really.. |

He has the third most minutes of any forward for the Pens tonight. How the hell is that possible? |

Sprong needs to prove that he can play at the NHL before ever considering playing him on Crosby's wing and the ECF isn't the time to throw him in to see if he can play at the NHL level. Sprong will get his shot to prove himself next season, anything sooner is just not wise.

Playing against easier competition will do that. I've never seen a guy after making a move like that choose to go backhand. Especially in close - Thorny87
No doubt, but he's had quite a few good shifts tonite. His first game with Pens had me expecting he could be a 30ish point guy in a full season. Just didn't materialize. |

We'll find something in the offseason... especially if we deal Kunitz. |

Im stuck in a hotel in Chicago watching this game, first time Ive had to listen to Milbury and Roenick... holy poop are they stupid. All of the doom and gloom for the Penguins when they are clearly controlling the game. Roenick insinuating Crosby is pouting.... what is he watching? |

Sullivan loves his WBS guys, it's honestly start to seem they aren't all held to the same standard as some of the guys that were here before Sullivan was hired. Kunitz, Hornqvist and even Malkin have all been demoted or sat at different times throughout the playoffs and none of them have played nearly as poor as Sheary has lately. |

Yeah, he is awesome. Knew he was talented but didnt know he played so hard. Looks like the best player on the Lightning to me. |

I agree, Sheary should not see the ice in the 3rd period. He looks like he is trying to kill puck with his stick, out of position and I think he is starting to annoy Sid.
Have Sid and Malkin play together rest of the game, let Rust split series with Fehr. Have Sheary and Kunitz sit for awhile. |

He's a faster, spunkier Kessel. |

He needs to prove he can show he is capable of playing defense before he should be given a shot in this league. He sucks defensively. |

If anything Sprong will give 150% to make the big team next year given the opportunity in the playoffs. Just depends if that 150% translates or not, but its a calculated risk.
Watching Drouin, WTF did he get sent to the AHL again? |

Because he wasn't like this at that point. |

So far he's produced for 2 teams in the playoffs this year. He's been in playoff hockey longer than the Pens have.. Just a thought. |

100%. I was thinking who we could sign. Part of me thinks Maatta may be moved and Schultz extended if he plays well throughout the playoffs. Long shot I know, I think an offseason will do him well and I would rather keep him. |

Why would we sell so low on such a young guy before giving him a healthy offseason to get his career back on track? That makes absolutely no sense. |

Schultz at over 4 mil a year... sorry, but no. I like him, hes far better than expected, but that is way too much. 3 mil would be high for him after nearly 3 years of utter poop in Edmonton. |
