Did Pillar land any punches? I guess I'd need to rewatch but that's pretty much the deciding factor with things like this. - daeth
Don't think he landed any but it wasn't for lack of effort |

well, you guys should keep him if you can sign him for that price - Tumbleweed
I don't disagree, but you have to give up something good to get rid of something bad. Toronto has said that they're willing to take on bad contracts in exchange for future assets, so a 2nd round pick and a cheap top-four guy is what I would expect it would take in order to get rid of an expensive contract. Gaborik is still a top-six talent, but the Kings can't afford to keep him if they want to keep Lucic and resign Toffoli and Pearson next offseason. |

Nope, he didn't land anything - but he did remain true to form and swung at everything. |

I dont think they mean 5 year deals.. more like 1 or 2 max
Its in other teams best interest to not help the Kings get out from under Gaborik or Browns .. Let them wiggle around those terrible deals. |

yeah.
leafs can't be taking on long-term dead money. kinda silly to think we could be a dumping ground for that.

We'll have to see then. Bautista definitely won't get suspended. His slide was against the rules but not even close to something that could get him a suspension.
Bush might get suspended.

I'm the biggest Jays fan you'll ever meet, but I have to admit that part of me is impressed with Odor.
He didn't like the take out slide from a 50 homerun slugger, said some words, and when said superstar got up to stick out his chest and intimidate him, he popped him. Not a close your eyes, looping swing and pray punch like most would throw, but a sharp right cross to the jaw. The kids got balls. |

So what's the best guess on suspensions from the Blue jays game ? Price is right rules as always. Jose 3 games Pillar 5 games Donaldson 3 games Odor 14 games Gibbons 0 games. - orienbrady22
will be fined. |

he's been involved in similar incidents in the minors. he's a swing first kind of guy, probably grew up getting into fights all the time. he knows how to throw a punch. |

if he's willing to take $1.25/year for 2 years, i suspect a 4 year deal at $2.5M/year would be more than enough to get it done.
LA would have a hard time matching that offer sheet.
The leafs don't need a bridge deal ... a longer term deal would be preferable.
Costs us a 2nd. We keep komarov and don't get stuck with that terrible gaborik contract.
what you proposed was just a terrible value deal for the leafs and that doesn't at all fit into what they need. |

The only mitigating factor for Joey Bats is if you look at the video, he cocks his hand into a fist - so I'm sure Odor is going to argue he hit Bautista because Bautista was about to hit him.
Having said that, if I was the league, I'd suspend Odor for half a season. I can't believe that Bautista wasn't concussed - the size of Odor's arm, hitting him flush on the jaw - it was outright nasty. Like, assault charge nasty.
Baseball doesn't want poop like that - they were lucky Bautista didn't suffer a serious injury. |

Did I read correctly that Gibbons had already been thrown out of the game, and came back onto the field?
That's gotta be a suspension, no? |
