Settle down. Other Canadian fan bases could care less about the Leafs...but we're all force fed the Leafs on TSN/Sportsnet. Get over yourselves. - Jeropotato

not a good line. When somebody says they could care less - they are actually saying that they do care.
I'm sure he meant "couldn't care less" but who would expect an Oiler fan to understand the not at all complicated English language. |

Yeah, but you're saying he should have went 1st over Hall. Why? They both play wing and Hall is the better player. - Jeropotato
well - here's the newsflash.
there's probably 70% of the leaguewide fan base of non Edmonton and non Dallas fans who would pick Seguin.

what part wasn't true? we are totally forced fed the Leafs!!! I laugh how Leaf fans think the Laine hype is a joke. If the Leafs had the number 2 pick it would be a 100 times worse |

You don't have to read or comment on all the articles. Nobody is forcing that on you. You enjoy it. Possibly because of jealousy.
Like I live in Ottawa but don't give a (frank) about the Sens. The best thing about the Sens is that it's often cheaper to go to an NHL game than an OHL game. I don't go and read about that team and I don't go and comment about it - even though it's all around me. |

If Columbus (just as an example) had won the lottery... there wouldn't be any question about who the superior player is based on the observation that the Leafs would have to take the consensus 2nd.
even then - they'd be debating if the Leafs should take Laine or Puljavri
I'm really extremely happy that the Jets get the 2nd pick.. and that the OBVIOUSLY best young talent is not going to somewhere like Vancouver or Montreal or heaven forbid Buffalo. - BorjeFan4Ever
It'd happen regardless. Every year it happens, doesn't matter who's #1... It happens regardless, usually right after the trade deadline. All the NHL outlets want to drum up as much attention as possible, so you always hear about how all these unnamed scouts actually love the number two, or *gasp* #3 player in the rankings.
Every. Single. Year.
This year it's at least close. Theyre both really high end prospects. We're not talking Garth drooling all over McDavid, only to flip over to Eichel. |

Way too much emphasis is being placed on Matthews' bona fides coming into the tournament. Fact is he has been outscored and outplayed by the Finish Flash. Toronto Sports Network has panicked. They have way too much invested in Matthews and they are trying to answer questions nobody else appears to be asking.
Not unlike the Taylor/Tyler debate of a few years ago. The consensus was that Taylor was the better player.....but, you all know the story. - spatso
WTF you talking about? We can pick or trade whoever, there's no pressure at all.The only people panicking are spazzes like you and the haters trying to grab straws. |

I dunno, Seguin put up 8 pts more than hall this year in 10 less games. Last previous year hall only played 50 something games but his .72 ppg average paled in comparison to seguin's 1.08ppg good for 7th in total league scoring while only playing 71 games.
His playoff scoring rate is much much higher than Hall's also - but of course it's true that Hall plays on edmonton and Seguin plays on Dallas. Before mcDavid, Edmonton was not even an NHL team. - Njuice
The team you play for makes a huge diff. The Oilers generate zero offence from the back end. We desperately need D men that can not only prevent the other team from getting it going in their zone, but transition the puck to the forwards. We haven't seen that since before Whitneys ankle injury a coins age ago. We get a couple guys like that and every Oulers forward has a bump in production. That's Hockey. |

This isn't whinning this is fact!! get out of your Toronot bubble once in a while |

It's weird how TSN gears their content towards their highest viewership.
Why would they do that?
A buddy at work's 11 year old niece plays in a ringette league in Red Deer, and the idiots at TSN never show the highlights.
Complete Toronto bias.

Well I certainly want my team to succeed first. But no, I cheer for team that's going through a horrible rebuild, so the parallels and differences are something for me to pay attention to. |

I've been of the opinion for months that Laine is the better player. Matthews however plays center, if you don't have a true number 1 center, like Torono, he's the better choice. If you do though, Laine is fantastic. I was hoping for a top 2 for my team as I really wanted Laine, but that didn't happen. |
