He is maybe my least liked first round player. I am not a fan. A lot of mocks are projecting him to us too...I don't see it even if we go that route. Doesn't strike me as a Hextall pick. Hell there's a good chance a team takes him before us anyways. I hope so.

I think Ottawa wants Keller/Jost/Brown. Devils are likely to take one too. I don't even know if Carolina gets one...they're definitely not passing them. Brown probably is a sure fire top 10 now though.

It's why I like the Avs. Leapfrog the Devils. Sakic and Roy probably want Gauthier anyways.

I saw Jost 3 times at U18, never seen Rubtsov, but I wonder how much of a difference there is between them. I really like Jost, but he was not as dynamic as I thought he'd be, even if he had the most points (not an insult). He's just so smart and good defensively and well rounded at everything.

Some Russian guys who watch Rubtsov say they hope he can be their Couturier (be still my heart). Neither may have 1C potential, but they may be pretty equal as players. Hexy is really dipping into Russian leagues (Fedotov, Vorobyov) so they will know. We aren't getting Jost at 18. German Rubs could very well be there.

From what I read, quality may be better than quantity for this draft. Wouldn't be averse to trading a 2nd or 3rd for future picks.
