I'm 6'2"/200 and there's guys on my rec team who are 5'11"/185 and scare the poop out of me.

Not saying our prospects are bruisers, but don't get caught up in height so much.

And we'll add size/grit/toughness through cheap channels like FA and the farm system.

I'm not worried about it. Towering nasty beast defensemen who can actually play the game and log big minutes? Chara? Ummm... *crickets*

There are plenty of 5/6 guys who can provide some toughness/grit for cheap.

Connor carrick is a guy with skills to play and won't back down. Size is the be all. Skill and determination > size.

There are not many quality bigs in the NHL - I agree, both Hedman and Burns are UFA next year if they don't sign. Weber, Suter, Byfuglien and Hamilton are others.

Lindbeg has a chance to make it as 3 or 4 liner. He's got the size and smarts and skating to have a chance.

Brad Marchand, superpest gritty poophead, is 5'9" and he's the kind of guy taking liberties out there.

It's up to the player(s) to decide if they want to be a gritty poophead or not.

The big skilled guys are using their size and reach to score goals, not run guys into the boards; this is not Sega NHL 95 out there anymore.
