So if Fleury and Bishop do not come back and play, the total salary for goalies for all 4 teams remaining is less than $7.5m. Fleury at $5.75 and Bishop at $5.95 almost as much as the other 4. What do you think Boston would be able to do if they weren't spending $7.5m on Rask. I think Buffalo really needs to concentrate on building a good D with responsible forwards and the goalies we have in the system will be good enough to get us very far.

I like that model. Perhaps the 2 best goalies of the last 10 years, Luongo and Henrik, have zero Cups. MAF has one, and most of the others that have Cups did not get Paid until they had one already, or at least were on the verge....Rask, crawford, Quick.

One thing Cup teams almost always have to have is a lights-out backup.
