Glue factor should get 5 games for that at least
- Stripes77

So what does Kunitz deserve then? 10? That was way worse than Callahan.

Not sure you can say it was worse. Callahan seriously could have paralyzed Letang. Kunitz was dirty but Callahans was worse.

It's worse in that you can say that Callahan didn't mean to put his face in the glass that hard, it was a hockey play gone bad. What can Kunitz say? I didn't mean to stick my leg way the hell out and hit him directly on the knee/thigh?

As a ref at a pretty high pro level I'm going to disagree. Arm in the back of the neck 4 feet away from the boards from behind. Nothing about that was a hockey play.

Letang was completely defenseless.

Johnson tried to avoid the Kunitz hit. While that hit was still dirty with him sticking his leg out but the Callahan hit was and will always be a more dangerous and dirty hit. We as officials call that a cowards hit.

Valid points, but how is Kunitz not a coward for trying to take a guy's knee out? You see boarding all the time. Kneeing to that extent is very rare where you try and run a guy's knee through the boards. And I'm not sure if Kaiser was joking or not, but Letang should've seen that coming.

Edit: Letang put himself in that position to be hit.

It amazes me that we hear those responses so often. Whether a player sees a dirty play coming or not doesn't change the fact that it's dirty.

One of the biggest cop out excuses is he put himself in position to get hit. Unless he turned his back at the last second then you cannot fault the player for doing what he is supposed to do. Go after the puck the fastest way possible. He should have seen Callahan driving his face into the boards??? Come on now.

Value is going up every game now

We should of gave up that first round pick at the deadline but the funny part is they would've probably won the draft lottery because that's a Buffalo thing or we would've went on a massive losing streak and ended up last some how lol

If it was literally anyone else on the Pens, ok. But it's Letang top 5 dirtiest players in the league. He knew Callahan was bearing down on him, he looks over his shoulder at him, then proceeds to fully turn his back on him. He stayed on the ice for about 5 minutes. Yet he comes springing out of the quiet room after about 15 minutes and is totally fine. GTFO. He ended up playing over 27 minutes. Yeah, he was real hurt. Was it dirty by Callahan? Absolutely. I said as much right after it happened, and even speculated that it was premeditated. I'm just trying to make the argument that Kunitz's play was dirtier.

Hasek! no doubt... for a while he was the best player in the NHL. while I'm thrilled we have jack if he is even half as good as Hasek was we're golden.
