Honestly the blues finishing with the 11th pick there really screwed them over. If the Blues had a top 10 pick the Avs would have gotten the 2012 1st round pick instead. So either they would have traded the Blues pick (25th) for Varly that draft or drafted 1 of Schmaltz w/ Blues pick or Forsberg w/ Avs pick instead

Brown or Mcleod for fwd, but if one of the dmen Juolevi, Chychrun, Sergachev are available at 10. I would take one of them.

Only way one of those dmen would be available at 10 if someone takes Brown or Keller in top 10.

Carlson is good but it is like a few years ago when you had a hard on for Lowe and MacT. I can't tell you how great the team is going to be with out top 6 forwards in place and some defense. With the expansion coming up, trading this years first pick is insane. No one will do it and people will be smart to trade for it if they have cap problems or vast talent. Carlson to me is not a top 20 defenseman. I am not saying that Hall is a top 20 forward but he could get there in terms of points with Leon or McDavid.

Carlson is about as close to untouchable as you get. Washington doesn't have great depth at D. They have good D but after Carlson there is no one that is even close to a number 1. They are not even going to consider trading him. End of story.

On top of the fact that he has two more seasons left at a cap hit under 4 mil. Absolutely no reason for the Caps to trade him.

I really don't see them doing much of anything. They were the best team in the league all season. They're set in net, on D, and at all forward positions. They have one of the best coaches in the league too. A couple of minor tweaks but nothing major.

Same here. Faulk and Sekera reunited on the Oil.

I'd say Barrie is close to Faulk but hasn't been exposed as much. Vatanen is worse than Barrie and even less experienced in a top pairing role.

The only acceptable reason for not accepting that 1-for-1 is if you've already got a deal to get Barrie that's costing you FAR less. Even then, I'd rather have both than just one.
