malkin with absolute dogged determination. to utter no avail with these linemates. - stayinthefnnet
I didnt see anything wrong with the line mates on that shift. Kunitz was in hard on that puck, Fehr got it to the net, what more did you want? |

I think malkin needs a shooter on his wing. Wonder what that line would look like with sprong |

i'll fully admit it was one of their better showings. even keeping it in was a struggle for fehr.
he's the one (frank)ing me up the most. kunitz is just so old and fried. it stinks but it happens. its not his fault they really dont have anyone else to put there.
i just really thought fehr was gonna be better. |

that would be ideal, a la neal. but i really thought these guys wouldnt be that bad. kunitz was perfect, and for a good number of years too. he's just unfortunately expired.
fehr has been a really good player in his career. he had a rough year with injuries and getting acclimated. i understand that. i just thought he would have had a more impactful postseason. |

Fehr does nothing for me. Thought he was gonna be a steal after his debut. Hasn't done much since. Soff |

We have to maximize Malkin right now if we want to get back in this. Either put him with Crosby or give him Hagelin and Kessel. |

I don't touch that 3rd line but I would go Sid Geno Horny... Kunitz Sheary, Fehr |

he has a large sample size of being a very productive, hard nosed player. and those are the guys that usually show up this time of year.
i just hope it isnt another perron case where it just never materializes for some reason. |

Even if Tampa ends wins this game, I still feel like we have lost the series - losing Bishop is huge. It's not that I don't have confidence in Vasy, but he plays a completely different style and the Lightning are going to have to make some major adjustments to compensate on the breakout. This game is a fluke for the Penguins, and I am curious/afraid to see what happens in Game 2.

I don't care which one we do but we have to do one. Malkin's our best skater right now. |

Can we stop with the Sprong thing for now. He is a disaster defensively and until that is rectified, he shouldn't be an answer.

Fehr's a better center. His best games in a Pens jersey have been at center. I don't think he's a very good wing and I don't think he's a fit for Geno's line. |

This isn't a fluke for the Pens, this is a dominant performance for Tampa and if the Pens dont figure out how to slow down the neutral zone they arent winning this series. |

Vasalevski is a starting tender on a lot of other teams. Vaselvski, Gibson, and Murray are the next generation of elite. I wouldn't be too worried.
EDIT: Quoted the wrong post. |

Doesn't matter. I'm not in the mood to gift a spot to a kid that has offensive flair but sucks worse defensively than some bantams I saw this year.
