Good post. You never know. He may get a chance to crack the roster. I suspect he'll take a similar road as Pageau did. Spend a good stint in the AHL before getting called up to the show. Doubt the Sens will rush prospects again unless they are truly special.

Colin White is still the most intriguing prospect in my mind. After that, Chabot and Paul are next one my list, but Perron is quickly moving up your prospect depth chart. Gagne had an ok playoff in junior, but seems to be like more of a project than the others. Not necessarily a bad thing, but wouldn't expect him to make any NHL news anytime soon.

I felt like When Dorion said White might stay in college for 3 years that he is our #1 trade bait right now. I think we deal him this summer. Don't ask me why, just feelin' he's trade bait to get the new coaches another weapon at center.

i thought White was a key piece in a trade for (add name of top line skater) from cap struggling team. Duschennes would be better than i expect. I also think they would move Chabot for the right deal. i do not think they will move Ceci.

I agree with the intrigue around White and Chabot in particular, and yeah I'm excited to see more of Nick Paul too, but I feel real strongly that Perron had a chip on his shoulder after getting passed on by so many guys, and he channeled that into closing out his jr career with two stellar seasons. As long as he keeps that fire burning, then this could be an absolute draft robbery. I don't think there's any question that he's got the raw skill, hopefully he's got the drive to become a good pro as well.

ADDITION: I think there's a big part of the Senators fanbase that is absolutely aching for a francophone star. Pageau is a solid 3C, nothing more, but he's gotta be one of the most popular players on the team right now. Locking into a french Canadian star would be huge for the Senators when it comes to winning over some of those fans from across the river.

Not sure how you would jump to that conclusion, but I would make that trade in a heartbeat. Doubt the Avs would.

I get the opposite sense that White would be hard for the Sens to let go of. I can see them moving Chabot in the right deal.

I do aspect one significant prospect or pick to be moved at the draft. This team can't limp into the season with the same roster they had at the end of the regular season. They need reinforcements.

For sure, they need changes to the top 6 and it looks like Colin White is the one prospect you could trade. Chabot has a higher ceiling, he looks like a 1000 game player he's so smooth out there and he's Canadian.

I wouldn't say aching, but it would definitely be a public relations home run. They tried with Alexander Daigle way back, but we know how that worked out. I don't think the Sens fanbase is like the Habs were French is prerequisite for players and coaches. Give them a true star, and they will like him. Worked with Alfie once he got in his groove.

I'll be interested to see both at training camp. Last year, Chabot had a good camp, but his World Junior performance was a bit meh (team sucked too tho). Colin White looked great at the World Juniors. Both are playing with peers of lesser skill in their respective leagues, so I find it hard to judge how they are progressing that way.

As strong as both prospects are, I think one will eventually be used in a trade to get a more established player.

Boucher on Sens
"We're going to get started, right away, in training camp.

I think this team is ready....now.... to play well. How far can we go in all aspects of the game of what I'm asking?"

Crawford's Role
Marc Crawford will be an associate coach working with the players off the ice and specific areas of the team (not PP ofcourse because that's all Boucher). Dorion also stated that Crawford will be working directly with players coming from Bingo; including off ice communication with players. He will also be counted on for pro scouting.

For both Gagne and Perron, I'd say their hockey sense is NHL level or close.
Physically they are less than ideal. It's worrying that, at their age, they are still so far from 'man sized'. Perron is 6 feet tall and 160lbs, or at least that's what he's listed at. He could be a bit under that. Gagne is very tall at 6 foot 5 and only 186lbs. I do think they will be in Bingo next year, and should benefit from pro trainers and staff.
They are far from sure things, but they are at least promising.

Yeah, White is a strong prospect. Chabot is an NHL almost for certain. How high his ceiling is, is the only question I have. I'd put Perron ahead of Paul myself. I don't hat the game Paul plays, but I wonder if he can translate his size into useful talent at the NHL level.

Again, Gagne NEEDS to build his frame...a lot.

I think O'Connor is another strong prospect. Once he took to the AHL game he was around .920save%. It was rough at first, and then he was injured, but he really turned around his season in the end.

I think Chabot plays a bit with Bingo and a bit with the big club next year. Perron will probably come to camp. If he does well, he will get some time with the big team. If not, it will likely be the following year before he sees serious NHL time.

The nice thing about this though is that adding weight is totally fixable, as long as the attitude is in place. The skill is there for both of them, but yeah if those numbers are accurate then they'll get pushed around in the NHL. It'll be interesting to see how they adjust to pro in year 1, and then to see how much muscle they put on for year two.

I'd be cautious with Gagne gaining too much weight though. A 6'5" frame can carry 240lbs but he'll lose a lot of speed at that weight. I'd be ok with him capping out around 205-210, that's a good balance between size and agility I'm sure.

Indeed. Report on Gagne is that his speed is quite good for a player of his height, but his strength is lacking. Will be interesting to see how he develops. Has good skill, but lacks consistency which seems to be all to common now a days. I think he can go back to junior one more year if I am not mistaken?
