Luke Richardson to interview for Ducks job.
He was someone I would have liked on the Flyers bench as an assistant. Did good work with young Ottawa forwards. - J35Bacher
minus cory conacher. whatever happened to him anyway? |

Didn't Conacher play on the Sens after the trade?
Hoffman, Pageua, Lazar.
I liked what he did in Bingo |

Yeah he did, guess he didnt let his old habits die.
Matt Stone too, Zibanjed, Silfverberg had to work with him too a bit right? |

Maybe I didn't understand because it doesnt make sense. We agree that Coots is one of the best players on the Flyers and you suggest reducing his ice time. He is a monster at 5v5 and consistently outscores opponents. You want an "offensive guy at 2C" for what? It doesnt matter if said 2C scores a bunch if he gets scored on just as much. Couturier playing is better for the Flyers and him not playing is better for opponents. It is that simple.
You said it yourself towards the end you want him to have more skilled wingers after suggesting he becomes a 3C? I think the 1, 2, 3 designations are stupid anyway so I wont dwell on that, but he should receiving ice time similar to Girouxs (and eventually passing him) and someone else needs to step up behind him and G to play responsible minutes and outscore opponents - YuenglingJagr
I'll sum it up. I'd rather have Couturier scoring in the 50-55 point range with his strong defensive 2 way game, than to have a one way offensive 2nd line center scoring 70 points in the lineup.

i desperately want to put coots with say, schenn and jake all year, but as our team is, we can't afford to waste coots defensive skills. if were not gonna outscore opponents, we need to hold them off the score card = much more defensive zone draws for coots, much more PK time = linemates like laughton/read/raffl/leier?/ = not enough offensive zone starts = not linemates like simmer/schenn/jake/konecny?. - sjk540
I think that is the complete wrong approach. The Flyers have done that in the past, all it will do is make them marginally better if at all. They need to place players like Couturier in the role that they think he'll be long term, and not with checking line players, but with offensive players. The goal is to build a championship team, with an open window for a number of years, not to make player moves to tweak out a few more wins, to get a higher playoff seeding. |

Thanks Bill. Watched the Goldberg's, and it was great as usual; makes the passion for the Orange, and Black fun. RIP Mr. Snider. I think that Hexy is slowly putting together a worthy team.
I am just glad that G's injury doesn't involve his head. As with Lindros, and others, we can see how concussions can start a player down the path to the end of his career.
Hopefully, V-check will have bounce back season, next season. In addition, let's see if Schenn can improve on last season, and keep progressing upwards.
It will be interesting to see what kind of contract Gudas gets, and if Streit will be traded. Can Hexy work his magic on the McD contract? Hmm...lots of questions to be answered.

In a league with a lot of bad contracts, Jordan staal s might be the worst. 7 year with a 6 million cap hit. I think he could be a good addition to a playoff team. If Phaneuf can be moved if Carolina is willing to eat salary they probably can move him. He's only 27. |

Great contract? Nah.
Bad contract? Meh. He's an elite 2-way Selke caliber center who scores at about ~50 points. He's still young. His contract ends the same age year as Giroux's. He's a terrific all around player, and I don't think that will change, even if the 10 year contract was whacky. Phaneuf was always overrated and his play is dropping off a cliff. I see Staal providing good value for much of the next 7 years. Still one of the most underrated guys in the league. It's a doozy of a contract, but it's for a great player. Better than for a mediocre player. |

Rouyn-Noranda up 4-1 in the clinching game. Phil Myers has a PP goal.
Memorial Cup, here we come, baby. Provy just has to do his job now. Hasn't been the best series for him against Seattle...stil up 3 games to 1. Can't wait to watch these guys on TV soon *knocks on wood* |

Vinny 2-2 and just busted to get to second on a gorgeous Bourjos grounder. I love watching him toy with the Braves' hitters. |

Good. Made it myself. Ground turkey. Soft and hard shell variety. Lettuce and a medium spice fresh salsa from the store. I was satisfied. I will grill up some racist chops another night. |
