Seriously though- I don't hate the Penguins with nearly as much as a burning intensity as a few seasons ago. They used to be a tick under the Rangers, now they're 2 tiers below. To put it another way, if the Pens play the Rangers in the playoffs again (or Caps) go Pens.

Plug some bats in there and you have a legit divisional contender, and at that point- you're a WS contender with how the MLB playoffs are set up.

I've heard Alfaro has the higher ceiling out of the two "big" hitting prospects. I'm not overly familiar, honestly.

Can't even count out Crawford...guy's not gonna be hitting moonshots, but batting a .285 with 20+ steals goes a long way out of the 2 hole

Not sure, I know Brown production has dropped in half, but he's not Umberger and provides other things to the team. On the other hand MacDonald will be another $4 million dead space again. Chances of another team, even an expansion team, to take MacDonald the Flyers would have to include value with him.

Both players are cap sores, but on the Flyers side it gives them a veteran presence and someone who actually hits on the 3rd line instead of just wasted cap space.

Crawford can be a star. There's just no projectable holes in his game I think. And he will be an OBP monster for a SS, whatever his average is. He walks more than an aborigine teenager

I remember before Schenn started breaking out we made some trade offers back in Nov-Dec. Hertl swap was one of them. Hot take alert: I'd still do that trade in a heartbeat.
