Here's an out of the blue, no thought trade proposal...
Just curious about thoughts.
Andrew MacDonald to LA for Dustin Brown. - Glak18
Nope. 7 years at $5.875 vs 4 years at $5. No way, Jose. MacDonald just sucks, but Brown is in heavy decline. I could at least see AMac being traded or taken in expansion. |

i'm posting to talk about hockey i dunno what you're trying to do - 2Real
I just want to tell you, 2Real...my Preds rooting was nothing personal, just business. I actually really really like the Sharks and want them to beat the Blues now. They deserve a Cup appearance. |

When did Brown sign an extension to add years to his contract?
EDIT: 6 years to 4 and it was just a thought, not sure LA even would do it. |

Hey
I just wanted to let you know- just so we're on the same page...communication is important- I...I'm no longer rooting for the Penguins.
I'm sorry. This relationship is over. It's not you, it's Malkin.
Seriously though- I don't hate the Penguins with nearly as much as a burning intensity as a few seasons ago. They used to be a tick under the Rangers, now they're 2 tiers below. To put it another way, if the Pens play the Rangers in the playoffs again (or Caps) go Pens.
It went from:
Rangers/Pens
Devils
Hawks, Caps, Bruins, Habs, Leafs
to:
Rangers
Caps
Pens/Devils
Hawks, Bruins, Habs, Leafs |

6 years then, my bad. And I think LA would do it so quickly Lombardi would question what kind of pupil he raised in Hextall |

No but the Phils- gotta love the pitching. Vas faltered in the 7th today, unfortunately, but it's not every day there's this many young bright spots to look forward to.
Plug some bats in there and you have a legit divisional contender, and at that point- you're a WS contender with how the MLB playoffs are set up. |

definitely a few pieces, and likely a year still away at least. but i'm feeling a LOT better about the prospects than i was a few months ago.
if nick williams/alfaro can develop into major league hitters that will be yuge. |

I've heard Alfaro has the higher ceiling out of the two "big" hitting prospects. I'm not overly familiar, honestly.
Can't even count out Crawford...guy's not gonna be hitting moonshots, but batting a .285 with 20+ steals goes a long way out of the 2 hole |

Not sure, I know Brown production has dropped in half, but he's not Umberger and provides other things to the team. On the other hand MacDonald will be another $4 million dead space again. Chances of another team, even an expansion team, to take MacDonald the Flyers would have to include value with him.
Both players are cap sores, but on the Flyers side it gives them a veteran presence and someone who actually hits on the 3rd line instead of just wasted cap space. |

oh im not counting him out at all. in fact i have huge (frank)ing hopes for him. if he doesnt hit waht you just described, he's at least somewhat of a disappointment. he's one of the reasons the future has some light. |

Crawford can be a star. There's just no projectable holes in his game I think. And he will be an OBP monster for a SS, whatever his average is. He walks more than an aborigine teenager |

I remember before Schenn started breaking out we made some trade offers back in Nov-Dec. Hertl swap was one of them. Hot take alert: I'd still do that trade in a heartbeat. |
