I'm glad the Rangers signed Buch and hopefully he can fit in this coming year.
I find it hilarious though a veteran Dman is garbage after an injury plagued year, and a guy who never played an NHL game is a god. - mdw7413
After reading the comments, I'm kind of torn. At first I wanted G to heal during the long time off. Then the idea of wasting money and a year on a player that might never recover pops up. And, who would we get to replace him?
One more year. |

buying him out would be the dumbest thing to do - give him one more season - you can't wade redden the guy |

you just knew there was a big BUT after your first sentence - mrn22
Its not really a "but" though. Trust me, I love new blood and hope he turns into that shoot 1st skilled winger, but I wont get too excited till I actually see him in an NHL game.
I think the team needs a healthy mix of veterans and youngsters to stay competitive. If we want to go all youngsters though thats fine too, but that would entail a rebuild and probably wouldn't see the playoffs for a couple years. |

Probably, and a D to boot. Nobody tore it up this year with a pass first mentality. |

Three rookies on defense is not really a recipe for success though. Unless you want to get another veteran defenceman cheap though. Thats my whole point about the buy out. Its a bit more complicated then just opening up cap space and saying Girardi isn't worth it. Also if G wasn't hurt this year I would be right on the buy out train. |

I agree - I think a more viable option would be trying to trade M.Staal - don't know how they would work that out but if they are to make a move for the defense I think that's their move. |

Right there with you on this.
Let's hope expansion protection rules don't screw the Rangers. If teams must protect those players with NMC's in their contracts, then let's hope the NHL allows each team at least one ABO before the expansion draft. |

Staal would definitely be a better candidate for a trade. Problem is he has to waive his NTC. Probably a 0% chance of that happening. |
