Joe Thornton has never been better than his new role as a complimentary player

oh for sure.. he didnt pan out as captain...
I think his best days are behind him tho.... out with the Getzlafs, Staals, Nashs, Thorntons of the league... its a young mans game now...
Sid probably has a year or two left until he becomes a "complimentary" player. actually probably about 5 years he'll still be the man... |

The Bruins own the sharks first rounder so if they get knocked out it's an 18th pick and if they win it becomes anywhere from a number 27 to 30 pick.
If it weren't for that, I'd want the sharks all the way. |

Is that how it works? not 22-26th pick?
That same reason isnt stopping me from wanting to see the Pens in the finals... |

No, but that's how i thought it did.
Apparently the first two rounds are grouped together so you have to make it to the conference finals to have your pick drop past your season ranking. Or something like that. I didn't know about that until I read Ty's article.
So ~10 picks difference is pretty significant |

I hate Sid but I agree. He does seem to defy the odds.
I think the years of the big lumbering centre may be gone as well. Not as a rule but for the most part.
In 10-15 years the small puck era will end when the new Broad Street Bullies will be created again, probably in some backwater market.
Rinse, repeat

You might want to try some of those fun facts, Mr.FunFacts...
Leafs finished with more points than the year before. They rid themselves of several long-term deals all while adding picks to an already good stockpile, and prospects to an already ridiculous AHL team. The fans cheered because for once, management has a clear vision of what needs to happen, and the fans are on board.
A good plan is better than no plan, and no plan is better than a really (frank)ing flawed plan... - lumlums
They still finished last... Getting the first pick is nothing to cheer about. It only means that you were so bad that the league needed to give you help.
So what your telling me its ok to pay so many dollars to go watch team that planned to tank. I'm sorry as a fan base you should not be happy with that so called plan. Don't get me wrong i respect my rivals, there is nothing better then MTL VS TOR on Saturday night hockey i just can't support the message the Leafs sent this year. |

Im not so sure... I think average sized players are the norm... big enough to withstand the punishing playoffs, small enough to be highly skilled.. |

Better than paying an equivalent amount to see a poopty team that management thought could win a cup.
At least Leafs management knew what their team was made of, as opposed to the epic collapse you had to witness.
Oh and bring on the Price got hurt crying poop. He wouldn't have helped that collapse much...and I'm aware the Bruins are shell of themselves. So move along |

Every team gets picks and we didn't even get the 1st pick by losing....then we had to win a lottery
