I'd love to see the flower in a Leafs jersey, but only because I have a Habs fan friend who is a huge Fleury fan and it would break his hockey heart, and I would laugh. - TheMussel
I like your reasoning. |

Your scary thought for the day:

Blistering hot housing markets aren’t the only things currently setting Toronto and Vancouver apart from the rest of Canada ? the two cities also accounted for all of the job growth in Canada, economists say.
“Yes, that means the rest of the country has created precisely no new jobs in the past year,” BMO chief economist Douglas Porter in a recent commentary.
The situation is “extremely unusual” given that two cities account for 25 per cent of total employment in Canada, Porter said.

And just in case that doesn't depress you enough, check this out:

The gap between income and prices—here we are in Dunbar, which is a very sort of middle class-looking neighbourhood, very average-looking homes, nothing particularly spectacular about them, you know, clapboard and shingle, but every single one of those houses is worth more than $3 million. What kind of city are we in where that happens? You know, people from outside Vancouver who see that find it very hard to believe. But for some reason, a lot of Vancouverites have very quickly accepted this is the reality, this is the norm, and this is what we’re stuck with. - Atomic Wedgie
The shadow flipping that is going on is not helping the market either.

1). Kapanen
2). Our 2nd rounder, which will be top 40
3). Pittburgh's 1st rounder
4). Corrado, Marancin, Bozak, Bracco, Carter Ashton, Darby Hendrickson.
GET 'ER DONE, MR. LAMORIELLO! - Atomic Wedgie
I wouldn't be surprised if teams that are in win now mode are having a hard look at someone like Connor Brown.
Top 6 potential, I'm guessing not super highly touted outside of T.O., ready to make the jump. |

Kessel trade worked out well for both parties. Might not be the return fans imagined but given the circumstances it was pretty solid. I have no doubt Hunter will find a great prospect towards the end of the 1st round.
I also think the Leafs should consider making a move with Pittsburgh for Fleury. If they are really looking to bring in Stamkos and rebuild things quickly I think he is the best option they will find in net. - MacPatty

Jack echl will be a good player for awhile. He'll be the Turris to that year's Kane (ie. Marner). |

Have to agree... 3 more years at 5.75
With the possibility of expansion.. goalies will come available
MAF for example I wouldnt be interested in unless the leafs can dump some dead contracts and the Pens are paying with picks to move him.. I dont see him having any actual value |

Other than the fact that he just had his best statistical season (wins aside) of his career, I'd totally agree with you.
But....at 31 likely not the best option for the Leafs. Go hard after Anderson or better yet....Gibson. |

Why would teams in "win now mode" want a guy with no NHL experience?
He's clearly a project. He won't help you for years. |

It could be a good option. All the leafs would give for him is Bernier maybe a prospect for him. The pens need cap relief and that would be the value in the trade |
