Flames ask permission to interview Yeo. What deos everyone think of Yeo?
- bigbear89

As if they already haven't been talking and hanging out at the IIHF tourney. BT must like something and now wants to make it official....and legal. I'm ok with Yeo. He's used to deploying a system that has dynamic players on it, fwd's and D.

A for Boedker. I'd pass unless he becomes the last option and can be had at a bargain price and short term.

No on Boedker.....huge game tonight for flames fans. Go Dallas!!
Does #6 and Dallas' 1st + get us a Fin?
Most mock drafts I have looked at has either Tkachuck or Dubois going to us at #6, most depend on Edmonton keeping there pick and taking whoever they deem the top D-man in the draft.
If we get Tkachuck or Dubios at #6 do you guys think it possible to use the Dallas 1st and a couple 2nds to move back up to mid draft range and grab Julien Gauthier?
I know a lot of people on here mentioned using the Dallas pick to grab a goalie but just throwing stuff out there. Draft day can't come soon enough

nope. too much of a drop off at 4-6 range from 1-3. The 6th and Bennett might get you into the 2-3 spot. You have to over pay to jump up that much with the way the talent drops off after the Finns

Although I do not like the price I might be able to get over it for Laine . Maybe!

I dont even know if the jets take it, Laine just has that game breaking face of franchise potential to him. Would be huge for the Jets if he is everything at advertised...Jets have a lot of good players and prospects but hardly, if any, are at the same franchise level as Laine.

The Weird Haircut and Big Buff could be an unreal combo

There's no way we get #2 with the way Laine is playing right now. Maybe if we add a good young roster player on top of the 6th and Dallas' 1st maybe Columbus would entertain trading the 3rd.

I'd much rather take Nylander than gut our team though, no way Bennett should be involved in any trade discussions.

Maybe it's just me, but does anybody else think there's something off about this Laine kid? I mean, no doubt he goes 2nd but every interview I've heard him give just makes me think he's a me first kinda guy that could have some attitude issues....could be nothing, when you're that good you're bound to be a little cocky I guess.

He was reported as flipping his coach the bird (last year i think). Apparently he has grown up a bit since then.

What does everyone think of the Darryl Sutter back as coach rumour? At first I thought it was the craziest thing I'd heard, then, I thought about it rationally for a minute and I think it could be a good fit. Players respect him, he seems like a hard coach from his interviews but I've heard a number of players comment that he is a players coach. Our possession number have been brutal for a few years now...which team has lead the league in possession the last few seasons? LA. Gelinas was retained as an associate coach, has history with Darryl. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. Great coach, horrible GM.

Players respect him, but if you aren't winning his style wears on players. There are reports that Sutter was locked out of the room last season when the Kings were trying to push for a playoff spot.

He could be a good choice for a coach, but I don't think he should be mistaken for a players coach. He's more of a ride the players hard and win now kind of coach.

I think, DS would be an excellent choice, guy play in the heads of the other team, great strategies guy, would bring in a system that would make us a better possession team. Think we have the makings of a good team, just need a new system that plays to our personal!
