All of this Teravainen talk is crazy.

He shies away from the physical side of the game all the time, which is a big reason why the Chicago fans are very sour on him.

I want nothing to do with him.

When he does not produce points, he does literally nothing else.

He is a perfect example of what the old core used to be like that everyone hated so much.

Brodin is such tire fire I remember when he was first drafted and he was compared to Nicholas Linstrom not even close to that Lol you know you suck when Ryan Suter doesn't want to play with you

Brodin was playing almost 24 mins a game in 12/13, 13/14 and 14/15; which was 2nd on the team for defensemen in all 3 years.

He had some injury issues last year.

IMO could be the perfect #2 for Risto.

- dadeadhead

The argument for him is that he played a lot of minutes? so did Josh Gorges..

The guy is great at shot suppression but can't drive possession to save his life. Ideal #2 would be someone who can do both. Someone who can limit the amount of shots, shot attempts and high danger scoring chances against and be able to quickly turn defence into meaningful offence (i.e clean zone exit, sustained pressure not just a dump and chase leading to nothing) doesn't have to be a big point getter though.

Ennis, to me, is one of those "no man's land" types of players. He's definitely talented enough to play in this league, but if you're a team that relies on his production, you're not very good. If you're a contender, you most likely already have at least 2 or 3 players that do what he does, only better.

agree 100%. ennis counts 4.6 against the cap, but his annual salary is 3.6, due to the sabres front loading his contract and paying his signing bonus over 3 years. if he was traded, what does he count against the other teams cap?

Not using capital letters here yes. I wouldn't be surprised if McCabe by mid season is in the Top 4 regularly. However they need another D added whether it is Goligoski, Yandle, etc.. So that immediately makes the Top 4 have one less spot with Risto UFA/Trade Bogo. From there I wouldn't be surprised to see the season open with a veteran heavy lineup in the bottom 3 D. Gorges played nicely last year, Pysyk is expected to become a solid Top 4 puck moving Dman, and Franson they will at least give another shot to start with Powerplay time. Remember Murray knows this team has to be near the playoffs if not in. Young defenseman like McCabe and Pysyk still can make mistakes at times and a vet at least is a known quantity. It's the same reason you will see Moulson out there at points and we all smash our heads into our screens.

I still expect McCabe to play 70 something games, but defenseman take time to grow and if they add a guy as expected then McCabe gets bumped back a bit.

I still hate that bottom 6. More speed less dead weight por favor. Top 6 tho
- Sabresfan-365

Agreed ....... this is a lineup that will battle for the last lottery spot ... nothing more.

i love/hate that site. without checking, senators fans said "we couldnt possibly let ryan go for less than the 8th pick in the draft and reinhart". every thread is like that. i saw brodins name mentioned a few pages back, whenever brodin to buffalo comes up, wild fans want "reinhart for brodin +?". ditto cam fowler. its every fan base and every team. trying to give a team ennis, girsgensons, or pysyk is basically like offering to give them herpes, syphillis, or the clap respectively.

Agreed. its a good site to see things.

Ottawa fans were split on this trade. Most, I think would do it.

Kane - ROR - Ryan
or
Kane - ROR - Ennis

I think I like Ryan better.

His cap hit is hell of a lot more though.

7.25 for the next 6 years. wouldnt be my first choice. what would you peg him for here, 25 goals and 55 points? at least you arent giving up much for him. basically a salary dump for ottawa.
