Fine you outlier!

But seriously I did too, I thought he would be the next big thing, thought I'd end up getting a jersey of him as well. Even drafted him in fantasy two seasons ago. But he just seemed to play like he didn't care. A little more effort could have gone a long way.

Haha, maybe there's more of us than you thought!

I do agree that he looked like he was coasting at times... and I think that's ultimately what got him sent out of here. But I think it was just a little too soon... imagine if they had given him the type of leeway they have allowed with guys like Hayes and Connolly this season!

Nah, Sweeney probably believes that he can improve the D by "promoting from within" still. So right now he is courting Vesey and looking for ways he can sign more forwards. Get ready for another year of Chara playing top minutes with an AHL partner and a D core that leaves their goalie out to dry.....every......single......game
- dothedougie

not like the FA pickings are anything to get a woodie over, but I'm sure they will nab a NHL ready top rated Dman in the draft,
if he's still there at #14

And with the 14th pick in the 2016 nhl entry draft, the boston bruins are proud to ( go off the board) select.....Sean Day

Edit: also Neely keeps saying he wants to get "heavier" on the right side, so how much do you want to bet they draft a player like Julien Gauthier at 14 to address that "need" for the organization. Then (if he is there) take Logan stanley, the huge D man with the next 1st rounder.

Yup this is what I'm afraid of... another year with everyone pretending Chara is anywhere close to an elite defenseman anymore. The whole defense situation reminds me of the Red Sox last year, when they tried to shove the whole "we have 5 aces" kind of bullpoop down our throats. The Bruins are hamstrung by that $7m Chara contract... there's not much they can do until he's gone.

Chara will retire a bruin. No one will take that contract, and chara will decline any attempts to move it. Period, end of story, might as well get used to it.

Too bad they couldn't grab Byfuglien... the right side couldn't get much heavier than that!

I know, it just sucks to see such an obvious glaring issue, and know there's nothing you can do about it.

There is nothing in Free Agency. Going to have to be a trade or we wait 2-3 years for the kids(wow that's sounds like a (frank)ing Edmonton thing to say).

With the 14th overall pick The Bruins select .....another disappointing forward a la Caron or Hamill

Many seem to dislike him for some reason. I work with an older guy that's a Detroit fan and he doesn't like him either.

Don't understand why there is dislike for him. I like him as a player and wish we still had him.

In 2004, the Bruins lost in 7 games to the Habs.

Joe Thornton didn't get a point in the series.

Bruins fans called him heartless, and the myth that he disappears in the playoffs was born.

Despite the fact that it was revealed after the series that he was playing with torn rib cartilage.

Kevin Paul DuPont still take shots at him on a weekly basis. Nearly 11 years after the trade. Its dumb and that trade was dumb.

Duponts a douche... he's got his little niche where he gives everyone a nickname, and the only one that was good was "The Technicolor 5 hole" 25 years ago. I actually stopped getting the Globe because their hockey coverage is so bad. I miss their sunday funnies though..

I couldn't believe he didn't get injured last year. The Ryan Bourque check in preseason was the only thing that put him out for a few games. I thought for sure he would be out for a good 10-15 game stretch at least... In which it would have given us a chance to see the team without him.
