A lot of people are putting bishop in the top 5 goalies category. He's put together a string of great seasons now and he will be getting PAID in a couple years.
1. Price
2. Lundqvist
3,4,5 Holtby, Bishop, Quick
I'm sure I'm missing someone here. - Njuice
Quick is not top 5 and yeah you missed Schneider. |

Bish please has been an amazing starter for us. He just keeps finding ways to elevate his game. In all honesty it could cause a problem in the future with Vasilevskiy. - Artyukhin76

I'm not so sure. The reason you draft Vasy is to hope he develops into a #1. He isn't there yet, but he looks good. Bishop is a #1. Why bail on Bishop for a "good chance to be a #1" when you already have one?
All I'm saying is goalies are hard to project and regardless of how good Vasy looks why risk it? If the Lightning didn't trade for Bishop this team would be in a very different place. Personally I think Vasy may be traded as early as this years draft. The Lightning will lose one at the expansion draft, best to keep the sure thing. |

Technically I think they can give Bishop a No-Move clause before this year and then resign Vasy and protect him but I highly doubt this happens. If the money is tight they go with Vasy, if they feel the money is there they go with Bishop imo. |

Don't resign your namesake, trade Filppula (retain 1m), Carle (retain 2m) and bobs your uncle, we have lots-o-cap-space.
If we do keep Bishop, another two years would be the most I'd do it for and that way Vasy could have ample time to develop. |

NO t sure it works that way... although nobody really knows as of yet.
Since Vasi has played two season by the time the expansion draft rolls around he would be eligible and if they were both signed to NMC i think they'd likely get slapped with tampering. IDK... can't see the League allowing such a loophole. |

Depends if yzerman lets Stamkos walk he could sign bishop and trade vasy to the flames or oilers |

For a franchise that has not had a true #1 goalie since Khabi it would really suck to trade a top5 goalie in the league. Vasy has been the plan all along, but how big are the chance that he really becomes better then Bishop?
The only thing in Vasys favour is that hes younger and cheaper. If we keep Stammer, i guess Bishop is gone. |

I asked that question to both Erik and Joe Smith and if I recall correctly they both thought that one would be moved before the expansion draft anyway.
I really think that Bishop took money from Stamkos this year and he may now be the most important player to sign with Stamkos getting an offer with what's "leftover" |

Stamkos is a great player, but he's not the more important player. Hedman, Bishop, Kucherov and Stralman. |
