I imagine it will involve the pick . 24 years is young that is at least 8 more years. We can still pick up a decent forward or Sergachev's at 10

I wouldnt mind that trade at all, 5 spots back for a top 4 RHD who puts up solid numbers is something we need, at 10 id take Tyson Jost. Solid numbers is BC, now will be heading to North Dakota could build chemistry with Boeser right away.

Thats a pretty good deal arguably he was one of their best in the playoffs.

As long as JB gets market value or better. The last thing we need is for him to be caught holding his Johnson again this year at the draft. "You know"

Tampa wouldn't....plus the Canucks shouldn't because they're not in a position to compete right now. The price would kill the Nucks draft and develop plan. Continue to pile up young players and compete three years down the road.

I don't think it would be enough on the Canucks end you're right.

I'm tempted because I really like the skill/talent of Drouin, but like you've pointed out the timing isnt quite right. The team hasnt collected and developed enough young depth to start taking these swings for players, all it would do is create an unbalanced lineup of offensive players with no defense to support. Still very tempting though, he's been playing very well this playoff and could really compliment a shoot-first/scoring center

the price for Drouin just keeps going up with the playoff performance he's putting in... he's showing all those idiots that kept him in the minors that he won't be denied. plus he's gaining leverage over the summer if he decides he still wants a trade. other GMs will be willing to bite on a proven NHL ready playoff performer.

Him and Kucherov were the reason Tampa beat the Islanders in 5. They are unbelievable.

IF Yzerman is going to trade Drouin, it won't be until after he figures out what the heck is going on with Stamkos. IF indeed Stamkos decides to leave (which I believe he won't), I think Yzerman will lock up Kucherov and Drouin (or try to) long term.

What's with TB and their star players?
Stamkos has a long history of having conflict with team management and numerous head coaches. I don't know why there always seems to be a rift between the two camps. Drouin as well. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors but there is definitely problems in that organization.

I know, thats what makes him tempting to try and acquire. He has that gamebreaker capability but the cost is certainly going to be higher than what Van can afford to move. Fair comparison or not, I see Sven as a Drouin-lite, which will be sufficient for the time being, though its fun to dream a little of a Drouin-Horvat or Drouin-McCann line

I think A lot of people still think of Russia as bad food , basic to midland hotel rooms, being treated with scrutiny by security and government. To this day I still have never heard anyone say Krishna you have to go visit Russia or India.

Perception. I did like the pictures you have been posting , but it is probably one of the last places I would think of to spend a vacation.

- VANTEL

Yes, I suspect you're right. Having to get a visa to enter the country isn't exactly a fun process, either, though apparently it can be set up by your hotel after you book.

I admit to some nervousness about what I'd find when I arrived, but the culture shock hasn't been nearly as intense as I'd expected.

Some sightseeing notes coming up in today's blog...which I'm about to write...

Drouin not considered a young player?

I would rather trade the canucks first pick for Drouin than Barrie.
