I don't think any team is going to trade for him. Although it's forbidden, players, teams, and agents all talk well ahead of the start of FA. He will have a handshake deal in place by July 1st. Maybe a team will get desperate and flip a late pick to try to persuade him, but I don't see it. - jmatchett383
Neither do I.
I am sure teams will know if he is intent on hitting the market. And teams with a legit shot at him probably will probably see no need to send a pick, even if late round, to tampa if they know he is going to the UFA market. |

Absolutely. That would be a great game, perfect ending to a tough series. Caps gotta win in Pitt first, but they can do it. Murray's got to be feeling the pressure more and more every game, and that's a lot to ask of a rookie. If the Caps start getting a lucky goal or two - and they are due - watch out. - wolfhounds
I have a feeling the Pens will win it tomorrow night, but I hope the Caps find a way to pull it out. A game 7 would be pretty great. Murray's been damn good. I think it's his series. Can't throw MAF in there now, after not playing in essentially 2 months. |

I can't root for San Jose. I've never liked them going back to 2005, and I don't know why, I just don't. - jmatchett383
Once the Flyers lose I root for the western conference.(except if it's Chicago) |

Ovechkin has been a ppg guy in the playoffs for his career. |

Yeah. I'd rather see the Caps win, although my Penguins hate isn't like it is for the Rags and Devils. |

Maybe, maybe not. A team can trade for his rights, before the one week period before July 1st when teams can talk to other team's UFA's, and have negotiating rights. We'll see. Even if a team does trade for his right's, I don't think it will be for much. |

So with Murray playing well it could be intereting next season for the Pens. Do they continue to ride Fluery or go with Murray. If there is an expansion draft I would assume they would leave Fluery unprotected.
Might mean Fluery gets dealt if that would be the case. |

Murray has been great. Maybe too small a sample though for the Penguins to commit to him, and jettison MAF. Although the cap space they would save would be substantial. |

I find a team that I really enjoy watching and how they play. In years past, I really liked watching LA play, plus they had Richards and Carter. |

Who was the guy on here that didn't want St. Louis to win because it would push the Flyers back 1 spot on the Cupless years list? Stupidest reason to not root for a team I've ever heard. Honestly, the stupidest reason.
I'd like St. Louis versus Tampa Bay and would be happy with either result for 3 reasons:
1) I don't think there's one player on St. Louis that I don't like, so I'm cool with St. Louis winning.
2) Big fan of Hedman, and I'd love Coburn to win a Cup to see 2Real's mind explode.
3) Oshie leaves, goes to Washington, and his former team wins. - jmatchett383

I'd be hesitant going all-in on Murray after a handful of regular season games and a very good playoff run. He's been great, no doubt, but he might be running on adrenaline still and ready for a crash back down to the ground. Still, having him around is a good problem for the Pens.

Ovechkin is the best goal scorer the NHL has seen in probably 20 years. |

I don't know.
I understand what that everyone thinks he is getting some big pay day. But I don't think he gets 11 million unless it's Toronto just trying to outbid everyone.
I think he gets more a Kopitar deal.
If he goes to a team that is closer to contending then Toronto then I say he gets something like 69 million over 7 years(9.857cap). If its Toronto then I see maybe 80 over 7 years(11.428Cap).
Depends if he wants to play in a full rebuild or play for a team closer to contending - J35Bacher
I was thinking the same...
Is it strictly money? Or does he want to play with a team that has a chance to contend now, or at least within a year or two? Because I don't think Toronto is a year or two away from being a legit contender...
He's in his prime now and Tampa is surging now. I think Yzerman will find a way to keep him. He may need to make a trade or two, but it's in both parties best interest for him to stay put and get his name on the cup, IMO.

His +/- stinks.
He was pretty good against the Flyers. I was sick of watching him run over one guy after another. |
