How long til Hexy fleeces the new GM in Arizona? - hereticpride
Because he didn't fleece the old one
Maybe give the kid a chance first. It's not like aren't dozens and dozens of 20-something CEOs running around...they do ok. Maybe he fails; maybe there was a reason they chose him. Andrew Friedman formerly of the Rays did OK. |

The Capitals have become everything we hate about the Pens or did. female dogy female doges who are dirty, attempt to injure our players, have an entitled air as Cup favorites but are perennial choke artists.....
More people need to accept that the Capitals now ARE the Penguins. - Mononoke
Cool to disagree.
I am not a fan but I love how the Caps play. On the edge, physical and skilled.
I look forward to whoever exposes the Penguins for what they are. This whole approach of being above the dirty stuff in a game. Get under their skin and watch them fall apart. They are still the Penguins. |

Same here, a team that can out hit you, out skate, out score you. Good defense, great goaltending. They're exactly the kind of team I want the Flyers to become, with the exception of being better closers. Still something about them. If they get knocked out, in this round, that's not good. What else does the GM of that team have to do.
As far as having to accept that the Caps are now the Pens. I don't have to do a dam thing. Not sure why some want to tell others, what they have to accept. |

i do realize i'm biased. and i don't think the pens are suddenly lady bing material. but how can the antics of wilson and crew be characterized with a positive connotation of on the edge, physical, and skilled while simultaneously just saying well the pens are all those things because they are the penguins? |

I for one would like to see the Flyers emulate the style and philosophy of the Capitals. Maybe they can be just as successful too. |

they are tremendous. nick backstrom is absurdly good. OV is obviously lethal on the PP, but backstrom is the engine that makes it all go. watching him orchestrate the man advantage is a marvel. |

No no.
I meant I still believe the Penguins are the same Penguins of old. A team that can be thrown off their game to drastic levels if you get under their skin enough.

I'm probably on an island of one, but should the Caps pull off the comeback, I want them out the next round. I never want to see Ovi hoist the Cup. |

maybe if they eat all of their spinach and drink all of their ovaltine. size size size.
but seriously though. the skill they have up and down the lineup is unreal. guys may be big, but its not like they have hal gills out there. the puck skills are great. their defenders as a whole are very underrated. alzner is one of the better shut down defenders that no one talks about. he is having a tremendous series.

i still think they have it in them to do such. letang and malkin especially. but sullivan is a whole new breed.
i dont know what hornqvist exactly did, but i'm pretty sure sullivan benched him for most of the third last night. dude was the OT hero and overall best forward in the playoffs for them.
they were definitely off their game last night. going through the motions big time. malkin especially. |

Take away Murray from that series and the tables are turned.
Hell they female dog slapped the Flyers and the only reason it was close was because of Neuvirth. Pittsburgh has great speed though, Caps are having issues with that. |

They have a tremendous lineup. The fact that they are down 3-2, shows you just how well the Pens have come together this year as a team.

They are, and you can win as the Kings did like that. But they are nowhere near as dominant at ES as the Kings for all that talent. Maybe it's missing a #1 d man; maybe it's Trotz's more conservative system. Lord knows they have skill. But they just lack that feeling of crushing teams at evens. |

I do think thats how Hextall is trying to build the Flyers.
Honestly I love that 06-07 Ducks team. Something of that mold is what I'd like the Flyers to try and do. |

By drafting Sanheim, Provy, NAK, Fazleev, Konecny, Kase?...if the Flyers are as successful as the Kings, I won't complain. But I don't see us as building the same team. Frankly I see a lot of Tampa to us. Chicago even. They're both pretty good. |

this has just been a weird series.
both have carried play at times. but it hasn't reflected the scoreboard or even shot totals for me.
pens had stretches where the caps maybe put up 6 or 7 shots on goal in almost a whole period, yet i feel as though the capitals severely outplayed them. |

I am excited to see Konecny. Enjoyed the energy and skill be brought last year. Injuries with that style of play do worry me. |

doughty goes a long way for that. but i dont know. maybe its just a feeling thing because this washington team can be downright dominant. and holtby is usually there to make sure it stays that way |
