I hope the move pays off and is good for the player and the team . I would like to see the Oilers start moving in the right direction.

Likely spends the year in the A. They saw first hand how fast forwarding a college player to the NHL pans out with Bustin Schultz.

We are allowed to like more than one team . Have always had a soft spot for the Oilers.

I haven't read the other posts yet, but how is this a bad signing. You just said that they need to move forwards for D help. So, signing another forward is not a bad idea. Additionally, adding a forward does not mean that they're not adding D.

Also, since when do you blog for the Oilers?

Garth is not a sabres blogger. His entire purpose is to be a horrible writer, say ridiculously stupid poop and create web traffic.

If we all stopped reading his garbage maybe Ek would move him off his prime real estate spot.

I mean seriously, no rational human being who has the ability to eat, drink and sleep(survive) such as Garth can honestly believe in the ridiculously dumb poop he says.

He's a WWF bad guy. He's Jerry Lawler. That's it and nothing more.

I guess every city has one. Here in Pittsburgh we have Rob Rossi:

On the one hand, Rossi is worse due to being more prominent (he writes for the local paper). His writing style is so bad I usually can't even read his entire articles (I could write better in fifth grade). On the other hand, he doesn't attempt to blog about the needs of other teams like Garth, which makes Garth worse in that respect. Even as a Pens fan I wouldn't attempt to write about the needs of the Pens' rivals like the Flyers or Rangers. The fans of those teams know a lot more about their teams' needs than I do. As for the needs of teams in the Western Conference, forget about it.

Garths homerism and disdain towards certain teams is disgusting. The only person I dislike more in sports media is Pierre McGuire.

It's obvious the Oilers need help on the backend. Does a rookie drafted dman provide that this year? Aych ee double hockey sticks no. That kid will need at least 2 years of development, leaving the Oilers in the same position they were in last year. By signing Cagullia they have depth so if a Eberle/Yak/Nuge is dealt they have a warm body in the wings to replace the body out. But hey, the only way for them to become better is to acquire a defenseman or two by any means possible without depleting a roster spot already occupied and not filling that spot.

Brilliant deduction Watson.

You'll bet dollars to doughnuts that Oilers will be trading a forward?

I think everyone knows the Oil will be trading a good forward or two.
