apperantly... saw alot of reports of sid, holt and benn... aw well not like kane didn't deserv it. should have been sid, kane and holtby but what do I know. - martox
Can't believe Sullivan isn't getting in the final three for his work for COY. I would assume JR has to be a finalist for GMOY. If not, there is a major problem.

I'm not convinced the Blues advance in that series just yet. - Oneonta Penguin
Fair enough. I'm hopeful they make it; their fan base deserves a solid run. |

I agree, but after watching last night ... still not convinced. STL, IMO isn't a matchup I would want to see if I'm Pittsburgh if we advance that far. |

The Pens haven't played a solid game since game two. If they put it together, which I think they do tomorrow, it's over for the Caps. Bring on the Bolts and Blues. - Topshelf Mountain
Game four was well played.
I think Philly figured out how to beat the Caps offence and we've just adopted it.
Collapse, high pressure on Backstrom/OV/Kuznetsov, block everything, beat them on the rush, they just didn't have enough speed/skill to generate enough rushes... we do.
I think this bogged down defensive hell both teams are playing right now favours the Pens. It eliminates most goals off the cycle and keeps all the shots to the perimeter, the only real chances are coming off rushes. Both ways it seems that all the attacks are one and done, you dont score on your rush and there will be too many bodies in the way to get anything through. We are faster than the Caps, there is a better chance we get an extra guy a step ahead on the rush and a better chance our defence keeps stride with their attack.
The Caps look an awful lot like we did against the Rangers a couple years ago where our top scorers were getting shut down and their speed on the counter attack killed us. I'm not counting the Caps out, they have the guns to really kill, but they look frustrated and we look confident. |

The West is wide open right now with the loss of LA and the Ducks. |

We probably want the Sharks. Dallas has the worst d and goalie out of those remaining but they match our speed the best. Blues and Preds have good team d like Caps. Sharks have firepower but their d isn't to StL and Nash standards and they have a first year starter in goal. |

When NHL16 came out the first thing I did was play a playoff with the Pens and lost in the final to the Dallas Stars.. The interesting thing about it was that one player on the Stars was unstoppable in the series, won the Conn Smythe and had me yelling...
TREVOR DALEY IS NOT THIS FN' GOOD!

Matt Cullen to this team reminds me of the Gary Roberts signing... He is a great team guy. Yes Haglin and Daley were huge but Cullen is the biggest addition to me.

I say he is more like Bill Guerin in the respect the team has for him. I think that is what Shero hoped Adams could bring... but if you just (frank)ing suck, you don't get loads of respect. |

I enjoy it, usually have a few pens articles up each day. Their morning Java is pretty good too. I'm a Pirates fan too, so that's just a bonus for me. The good dude of the week is pretty good too. |

I don't think the skaters on either team have separated themselves as the better team. The difference is murray vs holtby

Cullen might play one more year. Then if I had to guess he joins the executives with Guerin recchi and gonchar |

Taken from a piece about Justin Williams;
"Just how much of that can rub off on the rest of the dressing room is one of sport's great mysteries. It's not like Williams will open up a can of magic powder before Game 5 and shower his teammates with championship sprinkles."
I believe he's referring to Jarret Stoll, & the 'magic' is white! |

I think it's time that all the journos starting putting the pressure on this Caps team!!
They must be feeling it & hopefully will grip their sticks so tight they (frank)ing snap - so look for broken sticks tomorrow from a few.
I hope the Pens take this game & shove it so far down the Caps throats Trotz will have the Trots - the Harold park trots! |

I doubt the players will publicly make a big deal of what is normally a private personal matter, but this could be a tiny bit like the Rangers' motivation when Marty St. Louis' mom died during our up 3-to-1 playoff series 2 years ago and the players banded together to win the series in honor of their grieving teammate. - ab1
Not saying it becomes a "public" matter per say... but I have to think given the closeness of the team, it's definitely a let's win one for Tanger |

If we get some bounces early, the Caps may collapse, but I think they're too good to go down in 5. I wouldn't be surprised if we got blown out tomorrow. |
