I originally saw this on a mock draft site, but I may be wrong about the 4th pick in the top-90. They appear to have their 1st and 2nd round picks, plus the 3rd round pick they got from the Islanders... but in looking closer at their 2nd round trade from last year it looks like the Devils had the option to take their 3rd round pick this year instead of their 4th round pick last year.
If that's right, they'll be drafting 12th, 42nd, and 86th overall in the first 3 rounds... then the 102nd, 132nd, and 162nd picks in the later rounds. - khawk
Oh okay cool. I wasn't sure if Sens had acquired another 2nd or something sometime. Leafs have Sens 2nd next year from Phaneuf trade I know which is nice

The Canucks drafted Brock Boeser who played with him at UND, but then again maybe he and Christian Wolanin are good friends also. Regardless, Ottawa has as excellent track record of giving undrafted NCAA players a legitimate shot, which is probably what he should be more concerned with. - khawk
Not to mention he's from just down the 401 in Pickering. Close, but not too close to home. |

I use cap friendly to do quick checks for draft picks. Team pages have a very simplified version of year by year / round by round chart. |

Sounds like it's down to Edmonton and Vancouver from all accounts. Nevertheless, he looks like a decent player. Does everything well and has a good attitude to try and win. Sounds like a strong skater which is often a bit of an issue for undrafted players.
I think the Sens might miss out and that will put a bit of a push to acquire a legitimate forward and/or d-man at the draft. |

Lost in the shuffle today: sounds like Colin White is committed to return to College next season. Might be best for his development in the long run. |

I was actually talking to someone today about that. I see no problem with it. There's no rush. College players aren't allowed pro agents, so the decision is on his shoulders. It is a lot of pressure on a young guy. No harm in a 2nd college season.
I have heard it is likely to be Vancouver specifically, but there is little on trustworthy sources. |

Hearing word that VAN & OTT have been told they will not be Drake Caggiula's destination. That puts the spotlight on EDM. |

My sources are telling me that Bruce Boudreau has been spotted at Wes' Chips in Arnprior... if true, this must mean he's here to stay.... |

Lol, sure they weren't looking at the countless other overweight men standing in line for half an hour for the fries? He would blend in quite well |

A definite possibility... given they were probably half-snapped .....
But the 1/2 hour wait is worth it for the best fries in The Valley |

Haha they are pretty solid. Always disappointed they never offered poutine tho. That would be the greatest thing ever

(frank)ing Melnyk and his budget strike again. I will never spend another (frank)ing dime on this team as long as he is the owner. |

So Ottawa had a best offer of LESS than $2M per season.
Realistically like $1.75 at the highest?
That conveys a valuation disconnect so large it is baffling. Inexcusable. |

Honestly, I think we are better off. I don't think he's head and shoulders better than other guys available. I think he liked the long term contract with the Wild and you can't deny that their roster is a little further ahead than Ottawa's.
Hiring Beadreau would have been a rush move. Sens can now take their time in looking for the right guy who fits with this core. |

Word is the Sens were outbid by more than $1M according to Yost. It's not that they didn't get the guy they wanted. It's that they didn't get him because they are undervaluing a potential asset. I can't help but wonder who else doesn't sign in Ottawa because of lowball offers.

I think this is more of a case of rather being in the U.S. as opposed to Canada |
