I wanted to trade him after the 2013 SCF.
- RickJames77

He's got two things working against him every year that passes.

1) He's getting older so he's naturally losing a bit of a step.
2) The league is trending towards a faster, more skill based style so it's harder for him to punish the opposition.

You're right about the timing he should have been traded. I'm sure Buffalo would take him for Ennis and Legwand but Boston would have to throw in the 4th overall.

Long story short:

There's a little town in Ontario called Leamington that was known for growing tomatoes.

A couple of years ago, Heinz pulled out. Sold the plant, shifted production of all their ketchup to the States.

The company that bought the plant signed a contract with French's to produce ketchup.

Some guy posted something on Facebook to the extent that we should boycott Heinz and buy French's, to support Ontario produce. It went viral.

Fast forward a few months, and Loblaws (the biggest grocery chain here) announces that they will stop selling French's ketchup, because it "doesn't sell."

People go bat poop again - even our Premier (like your Governor) criticizes them.

Then a leaked memo comes out - supposedly the real reason for Loblaws pulling French's ketchup is that it is outselling their house brand.

Point of clarification: the plant still does some stuff for Heinz such as baby food, but the ketchup production is gone.

the Mayor already knows.

Leamington Mayor John Paterson argued it’s important to protect Ontario’s farming community and the local food processing industry.

“It’s up to individuals to choose what they want,” said Paterson. “I would ask people to remember that Heinz is making the ketchup in (the) United States with tomatoes from other places.

Garth's blog so good

Eichel played in 81 games this season. The only game he missed was a Hockey Night In Canada game in Toronto when he suspiciously developed food poisoning in Buffalo. The Sabres team ate at the same restaurant the night before the game between the Sabres and Leafs. To this day, questions still abound as to why Eichel's food was contaminated and no other Sabres player experienced issues after the meal. It's just another brick in the wall of hatred that has been building for the past 46 years between the Sabres and Leafs.
