I firmly believe that Nylander moves back to the wing. You should see:

JVR - Kadri - Nylander
Vet - Matthews - Vet

JVR - Kadri - Brown
Komagod - Matthews - Lupul(for a few games until injury)
Sloshnikov - Nylander - Hyman

Year 1:
JVR - Matthews - Brown/Marner
Komarov - Nylander - Brown/Marner
Sloshnikov - Kadri - Hyman

Kadri line in both years handles the other teams opposition. That 3rd line in year two has a ton of grit and defensive responsibility AND some offensive potential. Kadri always gets PP time. Eventually Komarov replaced by one of our million forward prospects. Leivo, Leipsic, Johnson, etc.

i understand why kane and brown would've turned them down since they rarely get any time off, but guys like parise, eichel, coyle, bjugstad, galchenyuk, patches, and others should be there

If Matthews gets schooled by McDavid in head to head play this morning and Laine has a huge tournament on the big ice for a very good Finnish team....does it not change the conversation on the margins?

I just took a peek at my ID badge.

It's got a few scratches on the front - makes it look like I have Trevor Kidd's goat beard.

I may have to demand a new one.
