I actually feel a little sorry for Crosby right now. I understand playoff hockey and the wacks and hacks but Washington is absolutely taking liberties with him right now and there is no kick back from anyone on the Penguins. Someone needs to stand up and make someone pay for all the abuse he is taking right now. As much as I like Ovechkin's passion I do not like how he is getting away with all of his crap on Crosby without repercussion. I guess the best way to win is on the scoreboard but someone on Washington needs to pay. - Daceroni
The Penguins aren't built to get retribution, and considering their history when they let their emotions get the best of them (last Flyers series comes to mind), i am fine with how they are reacting. |

Absolutely not. Non-NHL success has no beating whatsoever on NHL success. - jmatchett383
So why even have minor leagues then? Isn't that what they are for? To give your prospects ice time and evaluate their talent to see if they have success at a lower level, to eventually earn a call up to the NHL? |

Bullpoop. Let me direct you to the RW blog where he clearly layed out the stats for when AHL success translates into NHL success and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Connor Sheary, Bryan Rust, Scott Wilson, and Tommy Kuhnhackl would never be more than warm body call ups. - Victoro311
Dude, you'll so be made a fool when I lead the NHL in goals next season despite being, at my peak, a #7/#8 defenseman in a semi-pro roller hockey league (granted, there was a huge amount of ex-AHL/ECHL guys in that league). |

Crosby's not taking nearly as much abuse as he has in the past. I think that's because we don't do exactly what you suggested we do. In the past, teams could easily goad us into retaliatory hockey and knock us off our game so they spent the whole game running Crosby, Malkin, and Letang. Now we're the ones getting into other team's heads by simply ignoring them, so there's not as much incentive to run our stars since it's futile. Want proof that we're the ones frustrating rather than being the frustrees? How about Ovechkin trying to discuss the merits of Just War Doctrine with Murray between whistles and Murray completely ignoring him and shutting him out for the game? |

Pens are far more interested in the winning part right now than the retribution part. If they happen to have a few goal lead with under a minute to go in the elimination game? Maybe you see a shot or 2 but they're just as content to get the win, move to the next round & not even think about retribution until maybe a random Tuesday in November that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. |

Dumoulin had a nice game last night.
He was on for the tying goal but it was hardly his fault.
He made a lot of other nice plays and picked up those two helpers.
Could have never imagined in September that the guys from WB would have stepped up like they have.
Dumo was really the one that started it all this year...from the first game on.

I've seen your stats. They fall well below the arbitrary NHL translated success threshold. You'll never work in this league. |

So is ek saying we are going to get 6th overall pick from cal for flower? If so I like
Add a 3rd from someone mid of the round for Kuni
And DP for drouin
Resign Schultz let lovejoy walk and pens will win big next year
But I guess I should focus on this year first.. Haha lets go pens |

The 6th overall is where I'll start listening to offers on Flower. |

Oh please... EK rumors are about as valuable as the digested taco meat I shat out this morning.
But I would not be against Signing Shultz, and trying to keep Lovejoy cheap (2 year, 3 mil, if he is still going cheap... for our 7th Dman spot) IF and only IF, we can trade/retire Kunitz.
Then, Daley's cap comes off the books the following year, allowing the Dumo extension... and that D corp is locked up and solid. |

Honestly, that league was amazing. I was playing with guys who had been drafted by NHL teams, but who were, at the top, fringe ECHL/AHL guys who were off the radar. And those guys were light years ahead of me. Then you think, the AHL regulars are light years ahead of them, and the NHL guys are light years ahead of them (am I drifting into Bryzgalov territory???). And the goalies...you needed a perfect shot to beat them, and they were the same way. It really made me appreciate just how good they were.
The fact that I managed to score a goal (we had a 14-goal outburst, and I scored the last goal with like 30 seconds to go) was amazing. The fact that I left most games bloodied and bruised was not amazing. |

I can get behind the rest, but, um...no, not happening, not even close.
Also, that 3rd for Kunitz may be closer to a 4th/5th. |

I'd like to cap off all of these moves with Pouliot for Nichushkin. |

According to Toronto fans, they would be doing the Pens a favor by taking Fleury off of our hands. Said it should be for a 3rd round pick....... |

I don't think Kunitz is worth anything more than an 8th round pick. I used to think he had value until this post season started. He should commit hockie seppuku and retire. He had too good of a career to go out on a tragic note, which will certainly happen if he plays again next year. I want him to retire a Penguin but we need him off the books this offseason badly. |

I feel like Pouliot lost the next man up spot to Shultz after this game... and its not even close now.
But DP still has strong value, and played a good regular season when up. Dunno if he can get Nichushkin, maybe with a pick thrown in.
I really wonder what Kunitz will do after this season, or what we do with him... he is a big factor in all these armchair GM moves with that cap space. |

Haha come on. My trade wasn't super outlandish. It's not like Nichushkin has been killing it the past couple years. It'd be DP+ but it's certainly down to earth. |

He's also been hurt for a good stretch, too. He may never the "The Russian Eric Lindros" like some people hypothesized, but I don't think Dallas is ready to move on yet. |
