It's the forwards fault for not supporting the D's, it's the goalies fault for allowing weak goals. |

Add a legit top 4 guy that can play with Rielly or Gardiner (Zaitsev with the other) and have a 3rd pair of Hunwick and Carrick.
I don't hate that D much at all.
Of course, they would look a lot better with a proper goalie who isn't going to deflate them once a game - WingmanWillie
important to note.. as well as more responsible forwards.. |

I’d like to see hunwick shipped out. He’s not getting any better.
Would hate to see a guy who is still getting better like percy claimed off of waivers because hunwick is taking up a roster spot.

This is Lou's first draft with the team.
You know damn well he's got goalies on his mind - WingmanWillie
Lou's recent record of drafting goalies:
2013, 7th round: Anthony Brodeur (!)
2010, 6th round: Maxime Clermont
2005, 2nd round: Jeff Frazee
2004, 6th round: Josh Disher
2003, 6th round: Jason Smith
2000, 5th round: Matus Kostur
1999, 1st round: Ari Ahonen
1997: 1st round Jean-Francois Damphousse
1997, 8th round: Scott Clemmensen
So for the past 20 years, the best goalie Lou selected was Clemmensen - in the 8th round.
Any chance we are over-rating Lou's mystic abilities to select goalies? |

No chance whatsoever, because nobody said that.
Hunter makes the draft picks. Lou, as the GM might just have a say in what position to look for.
It's asinine, naive, and incomprehensible to think that Lou does not want a proper starting goaltender on this team.

He got Schneider - NHL ready number one on almost any team - for a number 7 pick - he can get one of the two Duck goalies for cheaper. |

We were laughing because for 3 years they talked about what a badass steal he was and Esplen wrote about him being on the Olympic Squad soon. Then they waived him. - AdamFrench
We were laughing because of the outbreak of butt-hurt all over Vancouver.
I'm so glad we did that - held him on the roster for 1,000 days without playing him. What the hell, we were tanking anyways.
Just to see the tears strolling down Beatle John's fat face made it worth it. |

Back to the D conversation:
What about Nielsen (righty) and Desrocher (lefty)? Both have size. Wondering what is their max potential?
Saw a bit of Desrocher in some O games online, he looked good. Haven't seen any of Nielsen though.
Side note: I really like Harrington when he was up. Can't put my finger on it exactly but I have a feeling we are under rating him.
Carrick is going to be a good one.
Reilly, Harrington
Gardiner, Carrick
Nielsen, Zaitsev
Desrocher
