Just about every freakin' goalie drafted is a "hope and pray". You can count on one hand in the last 15 to 20 years that a goalie was a sure thing picked high in a draft.

Agreed. Leafs will be able to get one of the top netminder this year with a late 2nd round pick or even 3rd.

That's fine that you feel that way.

I would like to draft a goalie sometime in the first 2 rounds.

I think the Leafs have a few 2nd round picks? Use a late 2nd round pick....don't draft one too early, that's all he is saying.

I dont know if Bernier is the answer... I also dont know if the leafs should draft a goalie... with one of thier early picks or not.. Goalies are just so hard to gauge.

I do think if someone knows for sure Bernier is not a starter they are full of poop

Fair enough. We have Washington's 2nd rounder

I'd be perfectly happy using that, if the guy isn't gone yet

he is 27, turning 28 in August, been in the NHL fulltime since 2010 and he is still not a #1, maybe one day? You expect him to turn into Tim Thomas? Worth the gamble?

exactly.. I suspect the leafs will try to fill the goalie void (if there is one) through other avenues than drafting a bunch and hoping for the best.

With expansion possible.. one could fall in your lap

Who are the two goalies recently taken with high picks that are standouts?

Price and Rask. Same draft. That was a while ago.

Nothing is for sure but he's been given lots of opportunities and hasn't produced. Reimer looked better imo

drafting a bunch? Last guy was Bibeau in 2013 I think?

Where is the future in net? Even if Fred Andersen falls in your lap, who is in the pipeline?

he'd be our best goalie since the Eagle

Leafs have had poop goalies forever, Lou Lams has had great goalies forever.

Somethings gotta give!

My point is, it's a crap shoot with goalie, hell, it seems more make it (really good ones) from late rounds then early rounds, lol.
