For a 43 point forward? - PhillySportsGuy
For a young, big, left winger who can put up 20 goals...yeah.
Plus, he'd probably "accidentally" run Lundqvist if needed. |

Plus who is the say he can't increase point production.
At what age did Simmonds become a 30 goal score. The Flyers didn't get him because they thought he was just a 3rd line energy guy. You look for potential and hope it hits.

That's interesting. Trouba looked like a surefire #1, but had some struggles and injuries, and has been inconsistent the last 2 years. He may be more of a Tyler Myers than an Alex Pietrangelo, but he's still only 22 and is an RFA. I think they'd want more, but I would do that plus the Chicago 2nd. - jmatchett383
Agreed, I think a change of scenery could be huge for a kid like Trouba.

All kidding aside, he really has all the tools to be a top pair guy and they could badly use one of those, especially one who shoots right. I'd even be willing to add Hagg to the deal if that's what it takes to get the deal done. Between Ghost, Provorov, Trouba, Morin, Sanheim, along with maybe Gudas, they could potentially have the best D in the league in a few years.
Provorov-Trouba

He'd instantly become their best all-around defenseman for next year. That's for sure. |

Like most stats, it has a time and a place, but most often gets used as though it proves whether or not a guy is good at possession. There are instances where that is the case though, for example Justin Schultz on the Penguins. He scored some points early on and everyone talked about how just getting out of EDM was amazing. Meanwhile the CF% rel sticks out like a sore thumb since even though his numbers are better than EDM, he is a boat anchor on the Pens. - YuenglingJagr
In my opinion it has little value, except to help show what happens on the ice. Like any corsi based stat, it is very unreliable to rate individual players.

This appears to be a sore subject... Been playing with brass knuckles yourself? |
