If Geno gets suspended I give up.

Seemed like the caps sustained pressure but couldn't get any quality chances. Pens seemed like they had quality chances even without holding the puck as long. But what do I know, advanced stats will probably prove me wrong

I agree. The Pens have gotten better goaltending and more timely goals.

We were only marginally outplayed. We had a 10 minute stretch in the 2nd period where we could have put this game away. Washington had 38 shots we had 36. I didn't notice a huge difference in shot quality. Felt like both goalies had pretty good games.

Sundqvist was ok. But he's 14th man on our depth chart. He's better than the guys we use to plug in on the 4th line. I got no clue on whether sprong should have played instead of him. Sprong would be a lot riskier, but higher reward.

Murray is a beast. When the toronto board had a which young goalie should we trade for blog and they mentioned murray as a candidate I said fleury would probably be available not murray. It would take Austin Matthews to justify trading Murray. The only thing with Murray is he may have reached his ceiling already. I don't think he can improve his mental or positioning part of his game. They seem like their at a 35 year old vet level already. I mean he's basically the sole reason we are up 3-1 in this series. Outplaying the likely vezina trophy winner at 21.

If Maata and Letang are back I'm not sure who I take out of the lineup. Pouliot is obvious. Out of Lovejoy, Schultz, and Maata I've got no clue. I think I want Schultz in the lineup though.

Daley needs to take that helmet and smack Jones and Mildouche in the face with it. bumholes
- madmike71

This has turned out to be a great great trade for us. I know people are interested in keeping Schultz, which probably would be at the expense of Daley, but ... he is a keeper without question.

Letang is going to mess up chemistry. Sit him for the rest of the playoffs and trade him in the offseason.

All you need Sundqvist to be is ok. That is fine. No on Sprong. Keep him where he is for the moment. Oskar does a lot of little things that don't show up in the boxscore, like his play on Cullen's goal.

I consider keeping Maatta out of the lineup, if he is able to return.

hes just that veteran influence that's been missing. comes out for a big draw when needed to calm them down.

that rush/shot combo he had? dont get me wrong im loving what he is bringing, but i definitely did not think he had that in him at this stage in his career.

So far this season, albeit it was after MJ was fired... I had to eat crow on Cullen signing and getting a spot from sunds in offseason, Kuhn playing over plots, and sheary not being a tweener and too small.

Luckily, I'm still ahead bc I said Murray should have been up way before the end of season, let the kids play, Daley and Schultz would help this team...

Still 50-50 on kessel or oshie tho

So ... Murray has a .944 save percentage in the play-offs. He has let in two clunkers in this series, including the first one tonight, but ...

i still think overall kessel can work. he had a good rangers series. wasnt too bad in the other games. tonight, it was like he was playing with a lefty's stick. absolutely no control, especially on the powerplay

As hard as it is to fathom, Murray will get better as he gets used NHL speed more. That kid can definitely unlock a higher level of reflexes to go along with his positioning. When he does, watch out.

In both the Hornquist and Daley interviews shown on TV, both players talk about how they need to be better and Caps out played them in stretches.

i love that about this team, very level headed. They know they have more in them.
