Perry Berezan says Hartley's "knee to the groin" approach has a short shelf life.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/ca...es-fire-hartley-1.3564964
Treliving said Hartley was judged for his "body of work" over 4 years - not on this year's failure.
BB says he and BT agree the Flames need to be more "truculent."
Lots of things make sense now. Like no 3-2 third period comebacks.
Hiller's vacant stares on the bench during games. Maybe even Ferland's no-shows.
But if firing him was such a no-brainer, why did they wait so long to pull the plug? With what's being said now were they really considering having him back again?
Anyway the important thing is that Bigern was right all along.

If the Flames hire Carlyle I will never post on this site again.
I'm not 100% sold on Boudreau...interested to see about Green. Good track record, he's young, and also probably preaches a lot of the things Treliving and Burke desire (i.e. truculence). |

None more than you based on how much you comment on him.
With the amount of female doging and whining you do re: the Flames, you may be better off finding another team to cheer for; one that you find no faults in. |

I'm kinda' interested in Dineen. Anyone that has spent a couple of years in the Blackhawks organization should have a pretty good idea about winning. |

BT is very methodical and I'm sure he took his time to explore he'd have enough options to hire in case his 1st or 2nd choices fell through. |

I agree. He has coaching experience & then some real good tutoring with Chicago. I wouldn't be disappointed if we went with Dineen. A lot of momentum is starting to surge for Tippett, what would you think about him? |

I like both these choices. Not so stoked on BB he may have all those divisional titles, but look at the teams he's had! Just never out coached anyone in the playoffs, if he has someone please enlighten me. |

Arizona promoted a 26 year old to GM, the report says Tippett will be seeing his role as head coach expanded into management so it's safe to say he isn't going anywhere

I'd be good with BB as a coach despite his playoff record, there is some aspects of the playoffs that you can't coach your way out of (puck luck, hot goalies etc.). BT is a guy that embraces analytics so his choice will be someone who utilizes a system that focuses on maintaining possession so I'd also be okay with BT going with a young up and comer. |

No need to make a decision now. For all we know St. Louis could blow this series and suddenly Hitchcock is available. |

Actually there have been a number of reports to not rule out Tippett & BT. Don't know how to bring the links over. But you may be right now that Yotes have gone with the young analytics kid that Tippett may have a bigger role in management. But, if it doesn't roll out in the next few weeks to his satisfaction, there is still a possibility. |
