obviously no one can come out and say anything behind the scenes..it would cause an uproar for 29 other hockey teams

I listen to 91.9 all day at work and Laraque never said it was a done deal.... He only said that getting the 1st pick only solidifies *his opinion* that Stamkos will sign with the Leafs.

He also said the Leafs (even without Stamkos) are closer to the Habs on winning the Cup.

Winning that pick was a BIG bonus, this off season is going to be so important the immediate future. Here is how I see things happening

Steven Stamkos, I do believe we will sign him at 10.5+ a year for 7 years. I also believe he wants to be in Toronto. The man will be a God in Toronto and he really does want to see the buds to well.

Anderson from ANA, I think the buds have a great chance of landing him in F/A, I don't feel there is many better goalies that will be available, lets face it Berni when he is on , he is pretty elite but his head gets in his way

Vesey , I'm not sure how this is going to go, Watching the tapes on this guy sure does prove his talent. Would be nice to see him here.

Mitch Marner, I think he will be brought up, I can see why if he doesn't but I don't believe he can learn anything more in the OHL.

Austin Matthews, Now I know im going to get ripped on this one, It would not surprise me at all if he gets traded to Arizona, It will cost them big time tho, I'm thinking it would take Domi, Larrson and their pick...... I don't think its reality but it is possible.

So many more to talk about but I'm very very happy with the direction our team is going and I for one think we have the best coaches and management in the game

That said, please stop trading the 1st overall pick in your fantasy lands.

Let's just (frank)ing enjoy getting a legitimate top talent for once, and trust our own ability to draft Domis, OELs, etc instead of ponying up for other teams' assets

I don't want to improve the goalie position this year. Nothing wrong with another top 5 pick next year. Maybe we get lucky again and get top pick. I hope they keep all their picks and draft a goalie early (2nd round) and another one in the later rounds. Only way I would trade for a goalie is if we trade a player like Bozak or Kadri for one .... assuming Stamkos signs with us of course.

I agree. We're supposed to be building for long term success.

The Leafs could possibly pick up a good goaltending prospect, Carter Hart, who played for the Everett Silvertips of the WHL. And as it would most likely take time for him to develop, trading or signing a UFA goalie would only make sense, if he's here only for the short term. A 3 year max type deal.

The Canadian and US styles are pretty much one in the same. It took the USA a lot of years to catch up, but they are now formidable opponents to their Cousins to the north.

We already have some European players on the big team. I thought we had enough, and was quite relieved when we got the first spot.

As much as I too, want them to keep the first pick and draft Auston, they aren't us. I don't agree with Bill Watters either.

Who's to say Lou, Brendan and Dale don't take a package from Arizona, that includes a Strome/ or Domi and their first round pick?

Ekman-Larsson just wouldn't make sense at this time, as we don't really need a high paid top end D man yet.

I highly doubt they're looking at the UFA market for tending.

My guess is that once the NHL announces that LV has an expansion team and there is going to be an expansion draft in 2017, there will be a few goalies available.

Top 3 that come to mind: Andersen, Vasilevsky and maybe Matt Murray? Although, Pitt may be better off not protecting Fleury...
