Well F, that was a shellacking. But it's still 2-1, could easily have been 2-1 Dallas with a few breaks in game 2. Get Eaves back next game, and Seguin on Saturday and the Stars can still win in 6 - tootooisapunk
Seguin coming back isn't going to matter as long as the Blues keep up the heavy forecheck. Dallas's D is just too undersized and they don't have the goaltending to back them up. |

Senators south. That team was loaded with talent, but Patrick Lalime was their goalie... - eggsegan
The Senators kept beating the Sabres in those years. Ruff trying to make it about the officiating is precious. He told his boys to go after Petro. Laughable bush league crap from a coach that out lived his usefulness as a Sabres coach.
Great effort and way to step on the throat.
Almost as bad as Capuano saying the Boyle hit was to the head and dirty.
Benn is starting to crack with that lazy cross check on Petro.
Look out when the Stars get a goalie and they start to learn how to win. They have a butt load of talented forwards. |

Parayko on Calder.
"I mean they're unbelievable players," Parayko said. "But I'm just happy that I'm still playing right now. I don't know how many rookies are still pushing for a chance to keep going forward right now.
"It's good to be recognized and everything like that. But the position we're in right now, (the Calder conversation) is nothing really noteworthy because it's just an individual thing. It's not really on my mind."
The seasons of all three Calder finalists are finished."
bam. - BluemanGuruu
He's definitely rookie of the playoffs. It's unreal how he has been able to elevate his play another notch in the playoffs. He's not just maintaining, he is excelling. Second on the team behind Pietrangelo in TOI among defencemen.
To displace Shattenkirk on the PK, during the playoffs, on a Ken Hitchcock coached team is a testament to where his defensive game is now at.
I give rookie of the year to Panarin because he had the best all around season, but as far as who you would want to build a team around, you start with Mcdavid or Parayko. |

Their D might be undersized but they compensate fairly well with their speed and puck movement. Dallas has its forwards cheat to better utilize their speed. They have shown puck support issues and bad goaltending. A few of those goals were just weak. Like Brouwer's goal....why would Niemi not go for the puck check there? He is too small to play on the goal line.
I was afraid Lehtonen was gaining confidence and thankfully Backes hopefully put some doubt in his mind on that last goal. |

Yes but it is an award and McDavid imo did not qualify. I think you should weight games based on the team. That is why it is clearly Panarin's award. He smoked it. He elevated Kane's play. |

I ain't going to kick you while your down. But do you think a guy who would be playing hurt and has not played recently is going to excell in a physical game?
With the amount of talent on your team would you risk future years of being a Cup favorite by chancing one of the bestnyung players to an even more serious injury?
If you have a serious injury and you compensate for the pain chances increase of another injury.
Eaves is a bit more scary.
A big crushing win but as I have said before yu still have to win four for any of it to really matter. |

I agree, their transition and offensive game is as good as anyone's but being that undersized, I mean Goligosky is 5'11 185. Klingberg's only about 185, Russell 5'10 170. They can pretty much all be out muscled along the boards and in front of the net. |

it was nice of the boys to put the game away early so I could hit the sack after the second period and get a good night's sleep.
'Preciate it fellas.
Was it just me, or was Lehtonen as shocked as anyone every time he made a stop? After how many saves did he look around for the puck?
The Knucklehead Factor:
Update on my favorite Star, Antoine Roussel: by my count he's taken four penalties and the Blues have converted three of them into PP goals.
I LOVE THAT GUY!!

Blues fans are just groggy from another crappy 8:42 puck drop. They'll wake up eventually.
We certainly don't need any Hawks fans over here. The Blues gave you all a gift by closing out your season so you could focus your full attention on what the Cubs are going to do this summer.
Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Scoot.

I am half awake. Last night was fun.
Reaves gave him a goodnight kiss. Shatty and Schwartz on the bench were really funny.

This group definitely feels different and they are proving it on the ice through 10 games

Just like the cubs
Can they sustain it, they might and probably will win the division but they are one Bryant injury away from disaster or Arrieta
They don't have the depth
I cant believe I am saying this but Go Sox |

Reavo isn't scared of any of those stars
He backs up what he does with his fists
Its the Benns and Rousells that don't
Garbage players that will never answer the bell |

He has been garbage for the blues in the playoffs before this season
Not sure if its Hitch that has changed or if the players are actually stepping up

No, he won't. But when he does stupid stuff, he will answer the bell if someone calls him on it.
I don't think any Stars are calling him on it. Unless there is a ref our linesman between them...
I don't think they are going away, buy they can't hang with the Blues unless they get great goaltending. And I don't think anyone is holding their breathe waiting for that with the two goaltenders they have. |

I think its more about the players. Did any of you hear Hitch's presser after the first round and before this series?
He basically said that yes, without a doubt, there were a number of players that had to fight through the first round yips and now that they broke through against the Hawks and actually won that series, they were going to be different players.
He wouldn't name who they were, but there was no doubt a number of them had allowed the pressure of the playoff failures of the past to get in their heads.

He's making it hard to not bring him back, the way he's playing.
There's also the Troy Brouwer factor. If you think they'll only sign one of them, what do you do?
I for one, don't want to see Brouwer go elsewhere, at least at this point.
