Well, not really that shocked, seeing they couldn't get anyone better than Ben Scrivens and Mike Condon in net. Although, Condon did a fairly decent job for awhile. He's not Price though. Not even Lundqvist.
With a healthy Carey Price, the Habs should make the playoffs. Don't think they will be cup contenders until they add someone like a David Backes on the wing and a couple of solid D. - Scrooge

who do you think you're talking to in this thread??
are we getting punked? - Niatnouf
No! lol
Remember TSN, Sportsnet mentioning before Therrien was hired, that it was a requirement for the coach to be able to speak french, as it's a bilingual Province. Nothing against the French at all. I'm part French myself.

Yeah, adding someone like Backes would be a great addition.
And yeah, I do like the Leafs as well. I grew up in the Toronto area, and really started following when they when on that run in '93. Have a soft spot for them. Very few fans have suffered like Leaf fans.
My Dad and Uncle were always Habs fans though.

during pregame warmup, Carey Price stepped on a puck and hurt his leg. He’d later re-aggravate the injury, one that cost him most of the season.
Did not remember this

Goes to show you that goalies are only as good as your team is. The Habs keep winning without Price who as,a result is the most overrated player in the league. Even Bernier could win with Montreal.

Oh yeah, my apologies. Thought he won the Cup with the Pens that year.
If Therrien is fired, than who could replace him? They're very selective in Quebec.
Not only does the coach have to be good, he also has to speak french. - Scrooge
I think there are viable options out there for them, but it's Bergevin's undying love, man-crush, foxhole orgy, whatever you want to call it with Therrien. There's no accountability with this regime and only excuses, which their team motto was .....you guessed it...."NO EXCUSES".
I really hope this season was an anomaly, because I'm not sure most of us can handle another season like this. |

If that's what going on between MB and Therrien, I don't wanna go there. lol
Leaf fans have been through these same regime types for many years, but never gave up on the team regardless. Speaking of the excuses of course.
MB has to man up and make himself more accountable for his failures. He has the credentials, and did a good job in Chicago. Why not in Montreal? Could the Molson family be meddling in hockey operations, not letting MB build the team he wants to? |

Not saying Backes only. Meant an influx of a total of maybe two or three solid, big forwards and defenceman to go along with Backes.
I'd keep McCarron though. At this point I think he'd be too valuable to lose. |

Oh yeah, he made it to the finals last year. I'll rate him a little higher than I did.
Of course Ray Emery took the Sens to the finals, and he's a backup now.
