Bigger guys tend to be slower skaters. Smaller players tend to have more speed, agility. It varies between both the small and bigger player when it comes to puckhandling, passing, shooting, lateral movement.


Marty St. Louis, Theo Fleury who were great small players. On the flip side you had Lindros, Peter Forsberg who were very good big players. And then there's the very rare big fellow like Mario Lemieux, who was a big guy but could do it all.

I wasn't knocking the Habs. I grew up a Habs fan. I like both the Leafs and Habs, if that's possible? lol

Agree, the Leafs do have a smaller squad as well. JVR, Matthews(if they draft him), Lupul, Reilly,Bozak, Greening and Laich are over six feet tall.

And by no means am I saying bigger players are better than the smaller ones.
However, in todays game, I feel teams need to balance their squads out, in terms of size. The bigger guys for hitting, and throwing their weight around literally. The smaller speedier guys, making the plays and scoring goals.

Let's just simply look at something that factual:

Most, if not all teams full of smaller guys aren't going to go very far in the playoffs, when their opponents have bigger forwards and D, knocking them around like rag dolls.

The Habs need to size up for this very reason. And they also shouldn't rely so much on Price to win them the majority of their games.

I'd say the addition of two big , hard hitting defenceman and a couple of bigger 2nd/ 3rd line wingers, and they're set.
