Set up the game tying goal too. - rangerdanger94
Drouin is awesome. Cooper is a moron for trying to bury him in the bottom 6. They're nuts if they trade that kid. |

We were joking last night how we thought when Droiun was buried we could get him for Yandle. |

just because we've rumored to be in on Drouin, Nichushkin, Vatanen, Palmieri, the Sharks first rounder, blah blah blah, all these things we have read were supposedly options for the Rangers to pull off doesn't actually mean they were reality.

Yzerman is as crazy as a fox. He knew Drouin was too important to just give away, fate stepped in and now he is back making a big impact with the Lightning. |

The Vatanen rumor for Girardi, a few years back, was legitimate. Now, Anaheim wouldn't deal Stoner for Girardi straight up. |

How does Capuano say that's a direct shot to the head? |

Because Hickey sold the hit like he got hit with a tire iron behind the ear. |

That whole team had to feel good after the hit on Drouin, Hickey giveth and geteth. Both hits were very clean which was good to see |

a few years ago Girardi was as important to this team as anyone on the team, I dont think it was reality in the Rangers minds |

Oh I know, the decline has been swift for Girardi and hard to predict. I am not one of those that blames Girardi for all that ills the Rangers but if he doesn't bounce back, his is the worst contract in the Eastern Conference. |

Exactly, nothing wrong with hard open ice hits in the NHL. Drouin bounced back really well. Kid's going to be a heck of a player. |

I think they'll buy it out and make Marc Staal's contract the worst in the Eastern Conference |

I understand haha. He did insert Bailey again tho. Ironically I bet some Ranger fans would trade AV for Cappy if given the chance. |

When Drouin was on the block I was all for a package involving Skjei and a 2nd for the kid. Maybe Yzerman would've bit at that?
Now I doubt he trades him for McDonagh. |

I'm in the minority, but I still think it's a bad idea not to wait a year ala Richards. We need Dmen as it is and who knows, maybe he comes back with a vengeance and healthy. Athletes are prideful people and he lost whole bunch of it this year |

I think it will come down to whether or not we need the cap space.
If we dont, then he'll probably stay. The buyout penalties I'm assuming only become lighter on the cap the deeper into a contract a player is at the time of the buyout.
If we need the extra 3-4M in cap space this offseason to make a run for Lucic or Stamkos or somebody else, then see ya later Girardi. |

I'm with you. Wouldn't it suck to buy out G and have him cross the river only to have him regain form and shut us down? |

To me it comes down to this: is the dead cap money more beneficial then using him on a lighter load (where he has more energy, because that seemed to be his issue) where you use him on the 3rd pair and PKer. And just view him as an overpaid player which there are about 1000 across the leauge. He will always be willing and capable of blocking shots which you ultimately must have back there. |
